20:16 Belmont At The Big A – Redefined

This looks a complicated Grade 2 over 7f with our fav Elite Power looking to confirm his impressive speed ratings against lesser opposition into true form against the proven Grade 1 performer, Drafted. Given the likely pace of the race, I’m tempted to play the forecast of Elite Power over Eastern Bay, but watch out for Paddy’s In Race Power Prices for some nice enhancements of the forecast.

This is a real pointer for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf with most of the field Breeders’ Cup nominated. We have a weak-looking favourite in Danse Macabre, so at an each-way price I like Redefined. She was bumped badly and got bad luck in running last time out, but given that this race is going to have a strong pace, Redefined coming off the pace will miss most of the messing and have a good target to aim at.

21:20 Belmont At The Big A – War Like Goddess

I have had one strong bet for the Breeders’ Cup this year and it has been on War Like Goddess, so I want her to win, but not by too far that connections will be tempted to go for the Turf over the Fillies and Mares Turf. But my issue is that this race sets up perfect for her monster closing speed.

It is notable that Joel Rosario has been jocked off after her last run where many social media commentators were quick to blame him, but this is another plus for me with her new jockey Jose Lezcano unlikely to be cocky. All in all this is a full win bet for me.

20:38: Keeneland – Artemus Citylimits

This has always a big trial for the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint and again we have Wes Ward’s Golden Pal having a warm-up for back-to-back Turf Sprints. Having not been seen racing since early August and only having done three pieces of ‘public’ work since then (and none of them  impressive on the clock), I am keen to oppose this fav.

The ex Joseph O’Brien horse is drawn too wide to chance, so Artemus Citylimits becomes the play by default. He is a speedster that is able to run to triple-figures. Beyer has loads of early speed to bang the rail and will strip fit from a good effort in September.

21:42: Keeneland – In Italian

Chad Brown wins a lot a of US Turf Group 1s, it’s just a fact. He trains the first three in the betting and they all have form around each other. Regal Glory will be our market fav, but I really am a fan of In Italian. She went coast to coast winning the Diana at Saratoga and looking at the pace set up here, could get a nice solo.

22:14: Keeneland – Forte

I have an awful habit of thinking that the winner of this race will go onto win the Kentucky Derby the following May and am ahead of myself this year already, as I like Forte to win next season’s Triple Crown and 2023 Breeders’ Cup Classic.

Already a Grade 1 winner this year, Forte was better than the bare result at Saratoga indicated, having had traffic problems, but overcame them to edge clear where it mattered.
