14:52 Chepstow – Sebastopol (Luke Tucker)
SEBASTOPOL is in career-best form with visor fitted in the spring, most notably when clearcut winner of Class 2 handicap chase here. Today’s longer trip will also suit and he probably won’t go down without a fight.
15:00 Newmarket – Royal Scotsman (Racing Post, Lambourn)
ROYAL SCOTSMAN has looked a very useful 6f colt, having finished third in the Coventry then won the Richmond. Form dipped in the Gimcrack most recently, finishing only fifth. Bred to stay 7f but doesn’t particularly shape as if he’s going to benefit from this extra furlong.
15:15 York – Popmaster (Mirror Online, Melissa Jones)
POPMASTER had a cracking run when collared only late on in the Wokingham at Royal Ascot but well held since in Stewards’ and Ayr Gold Cups. Others have less to prove but he wasn’t disgraced in this race last year and would have claims if on a going day.
15:40 Newmarket – Evaluation (On The Nose, Expert Eye)
EVALUATION was on a four-timer for new yard and then came from out the back to be fourth of 18 to Zoffee in the Northumberland Vase on Newcastle AW. Led 2f out but rather wandered and was caught on the line seeking a big bonus to Sunday Series race at Sandown seven weeks ago. New trip but same mark as last time and he’s been going from strength to strength.
