Horse Racing tips: A 4/1 fancy leads the way at Stratford today

13:00 – Shetland Bus

C&D winner Esprit De Somoza will be a tough nut to crack if back in peak form after his six-month absence but SHETLAND BUS seems to have turned a corner in recent weeks is selected in the hope he can build upon his decent effort in first-time cheekpieces last month. Storm Dennis was in very good form over hurdles when we last saw him and it will be interesting to see how well he takes to chasing.

13:35 – La Breille

Oneforthegutter is a very talented Flat-racer on his day and could be very difficult to beat if all goes to plan on this hurdling debut but he’s not particularly reliable and preference is for the proven hurdling ability of LA BREILLE, who jumped fairly well and ran a big race in defeat at Auteuil in June. Caesar’s Palace is next on the list.

14:10 – Parramount

We haven’t seen him since the 2021 Aintree festival but PARRAMOUNT looked very promising when winning a bumper here a few weeks earlier and is taken to make a winning hurdling debut. The other bumper winner in the line-up, Donaire, may provide the main threat. It’s A Good Name and Master Dancer make their British debuts, having both won over jumps in France.

14:45 – Time to Bite

A few of these are tricky to weigh up but the one with least to prove is TIME TO BITE, who made a pleasing stable debut over C&D in August and has since backed up that performance with another good effort. Sublime Heights disappointed during a two-race spell over fences last year but was back in good form over hurdles in the spring and connections are evidently keen to give him another crack at chasing. Faitque De L’Isle can probably be excused his defeat on heavy ground in February and has been given a good chance by the handicapper in the meantime.

15:20 – Land of Delight

Dynamic Kate has thrived in recent weeks and the cheekpieces may yet enable further improvement but an interesting alternative is LAND OF MY DELIGHT, who finished well to snatch second over 2m on his handicap debut and could plausibly be seen in a much better light over today’s longer trip. Kazontherazz ran very well in defeat on her latest outing and also makes significant appeal.

15:55 – Dream in the Park

Emma Lavelle’s DREAM IN THE PARK (NAP) was second to a useful rival on his bumper debut last autumn and the form of his subsequent Ascot second also reads very well. He began his hurdling career with two encouraging runs at the start of this year and, if the bumper form is a guide, could be on a very lenient opening handicap mark. Benandgone ran well in defeat on his handicap debut in the spring and is second choice, ahead of course winner Reams Of Love.

16:30 – Kayf Legend

Most of these have something going for them but the suggestion is KAYF LEGEND, who made a very promising Irish point debut in the spring. Gun Runner Cash showed a fairly good level of rules form when with Gordon Elliott and is second choice but Borderline produced a good late surge to take second over C&D in August and also makes the shortlist.
