Gamestop, this son of Pivotal will benefit from soft ground and I think he is value against the two horses that finished in front of him at Longchamp last time. I just feel that he can get away on terms this time with the ground and if so, he has to be a player.

13:50 – Habana
We had a shock winner of the Arc last year and the German horses are very often underrated. I really like Habana, this daughter of King Man, trained by Andreas Wohler. She will handle the soft ground very well as she bolted up at Baden-Baden in a Group 3 and I just feel at the prices that she is the value here. The obvious one is Kelina far Maxine Guyon, however, the price reflects the strength of support.
15:05 – Torquator Tasso
Torquator Tasso was a shock 80/1 winner last year on heavy ground. He ran a hell of a race in the King George when finishing second to Pyledriver on very firm ground. I went over to do a feature for Sky Sports Racing and the Arc has been his target all season. He is a horse who loves the soft and Frankie Dettori has won this race a few times so he is the right man for this job.
Vadeni met trouble in running at Leopardstown but I worry if he’ll stay this far on very soft ground. Alpinista would be the fairytale for Sir Mark Prescott. She is a very good filly on soft ground but I worry that the rough race that the Arc can be may ruffle her a bit. Luxembourg is a worthy favourite as he will cope with conditions and certainly looked the part when winning the Irish Champion Stakes. I fear there could be a few hard luck stories in here with so many runners and so much at stake!

15:50 – Nashwa
John and Thady Gosden have had some great days at the Arc and they would love to have another with Nashwa. This daughter of Frankel has never really been tested on very soft ground but when she won the Prix de Diane at Chantilly she certainly didn’t mind it then.
