Don’t know what a NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets). The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…

Ascot

14:06 Newmarket – Skysail (The Sun)

With precious little soft-ground form to digest and rain forecast, this has a dangerous look to it. What at least bodes well for SKYSAIL is that both his parents were fully effective under testing conditions and, after entering many a notebook on his debut, it was good to see him get the job done in a professional manner at Newbury. Although Amichi has a penalty for winning a similar race on the July course, it was fairly comprehensive and he smacks of a youngster with more to offer. Of those at greater odds, the once-raced Clipsham La Habana merits a second look.

15:36 Ascot – Symbolize (Racing Post)

With plenty of rain in the forecast on Friday, calculations are based on the ground being on the soft side. SYMBOLIZE is down to the same mark as when chasing home the very smart Aldaary (pair clear) on heavy ground in this race 12 months ago. He’s performed well enough in recent starts to think that he arrives in good form again, so he’s taken to deny Fresh a C&D hat-trick. David O’Meara’s Blue For You, Orbaan and Rhoscolyn have all run several good races in similarly competitive events this season and are likely to get involved again. Of those at longer odds, the selection’s stablemate Oo De Lally is at home with on softer than good and is well handicapped if a first-time tongue-tie helps him to stage a revival.

15:57 Redcar – Trais Fluors (The Mail)

A hot handicap in which Give It Some Teddy is greatly respected in his bid to win the race for a third time. Preference, though, is for TRAIS FLUORS, who had a sighter for this when third over C&D earlier this season and has dropped to a very favourable mark for a stable which showed its handicap skills in last week’s Cambridgeshire. Others worthy of a favourable mention include Star Shield, Diamondonthehill, Spirit Catcher, Pisanello and A Boy Named Ivy. Star Shield may chase home the selection.

16:37 Gowran Park – Old Town Garde (Expert Eye)

Arrycan is in the form of his life and ought to be in the mix again but slight preference is for OLD TOWN GARDE. Gordon Elliott’s charge should appreciate this shorter trip and with rain in the forecast, it’s worth noting that he’s versatile with regards to ground conditions. Na Caith Tobac may have more to give over fences.
