SHARTASH ran really well in the National Stakes on his last start. He’s not the biggest horse in the world but I think they have confidence in him getting 7f and they might ride him slightly differently.

GAMESTOP will benefit from soft ground and I think he is each-way value against the two horses that finished in front of him at Longchamp last time.

THE ANTARCTIC has already has some soft ground form in the book. He backs up fairly quickly after last week’s run, but that’s never usually a problem with this operation.

German raider HABANA looks full of stamina and is proven in soft ground. The daughter of Kingman was far from cheap at 140,000gns and powered away to land a Baden Baden Group 3 last time.

The interesting one if you take her form literally is ASPEN GROVE. A huge 66/1 winner at the Curragh in a Group 3 over 1m but is now coming back down in trip.

I really HABANA, she will handle the soft ground very well as she bolted up at Baden-Baden in a Group 3.

This could prove a real test for a few of these who are stepping up in distance also and BLUE ROSE CEN, who loves the mud, has course and distance form in the book already.

I have a feeling AL HAKEEM will shock them all for Jean-Claude Rouget and the home side. Everything about Al Hakeem suggests the son of Siyouni has been crying out for this distance and that stall 4 draw is perfect.

Luxembourg will be suited by the step up in trip but there’s no value there. I think looking at the Prix du Jockey Club that AL HAKEEM is interesting. Outside of the fancied ones, he is an each-way poke!

TORQUATOR TASSO was a shock winner last year on heavy ground and he ran a hell of a race in the King George, finishing second to Pyledriver on very firm ground. The Arc has been his target all season and Frankie Dettori is the right man for this job.

The way LUXEMBOURG went through the line last time in the Champions Stakes at Leopardstown would suggest that this trip is well within his compass. Has a Group 1 win on soft ground already.

I’ve always thought this is the perfect trip for Oaks heroine TUESDAY and suspect she will take all the beating for Wayne Lordan and Aidan O’Brien.

ABOVE THE CURVE will win. A huge filly, she was tough at the Curragh and going up in trip will really suit her.

NASHWA has never really been tested on very soft ground but when she won the Prix de Diane at Chantilly she certainly didn’t mind it then.

NASHWA has been a rapid improver. Winner of the French Oaks at Chantilly and the Nassau Stakes. Conditions may not be ideal but there’s no doubt she’s still on the rise.

BERNEUIL started 7-2 for this last year and finished last after a dreadful start. The five-year-old is of course much better than that and was a good winner at Longchamp when last seen in September.

I like the look of TERESA MENDOZA each-way. You want to be low in the draw and she’s in stall 5, two inside The Platinum Queen.

CATURRA has not been at his best so far this season. But he comes from a good sprint academy and has that number 4 stall position to run from. Good each-way chance.

This should be a good chance for TENEBRISM to get back to winning ways for Aidan O’Brien and Ryan Moore. Was a fine 3rd in the Matron when last seen and the trip is perfect.

It’s the ideal trip for TENEBRISM. She was behind Homeless Songs and Saffron Beach in the Matrom and I think a mile was too far then.

This is possibly SANDRINE’s ideal trip under what could prove extreme conditions come the end of the day. Her only try when the mud was really flying came in the Albany Stakes and she sliced through those conditions.
