13:25 – Falcon Nine

FALCON NINE is from a smart family and produced a promising first effort at Leicester earlier this month, easy to be in the market and very much in need of the experience. He kept on gradually in the closing stages and is open to significant improvement now, especially now stepping up to a mile. Uncle’s Newbury introduction was similarly promising and he can also take a big step forward, while Racingbreaks Ryder and Muktamil are others with claims.

13:59 – Rebel Red

This looks an interesting novice event and REBEL RED makes plenty of appeal on paper. He is a brother to smart Without Parole, who made a winning debut and went on to win the St James’ Palace Stakes, while he also represents a yard that have enjoyed a good season with their juveniles. Any market support would look significant. Spider Murphy offered plenty to work on when runner-up on last month’s debut at Leicester and looks best of those with experience.

14:34 – Bresson

BRESSON made the most of a good opportunity when opening his account at the fourth attempt at Yarmouth last month, given a positive ride and proving much too good for inferior rivals. He now carries a penalty, but still sets a good standard on form, and is fully expected to follow up now sporting first-time cheekpieces. It would be no surprise if one of the newcomers were to emerge as the biggest threat, with Remarquee and Strike Alliance making most appeal before market clues.

15:09 – Secret Solace

SECRET SOLACE started at 50/1 but shaped with plenty of promise on his debut at Newbury when third to a couple of promising and previously unbeaten rivals. She was not match for that pair in the closing stages but is still a filly to follow, well up to winning a race of this nature and sure to develop further next year. There are several newcomers to note though, in particular Greek Order and Ribal.

15:44 – Wallop

WALLOP caught the eye on his debut when third to smart Noble Style – who has since gone on to win the Gimcrack at York – and he is clearly held in some regard as he was pitched into the Mill Reef on his next start. He was far from disgraced that day, too, and should find this assignment much more to his liking. He can prove too strong for the more experienced Bolt Action, who should relish this return to six furlongs.

16:19 – Temple Bruer

TEMPLE BRUER has thrived since joining this yard, making it three wins from four starts at Newcastle a fortnight ago, and he may have even more to offer. He is worth marking up for that effort as he had to make his challenge away from the favoured stand-side rail and a subsequent 3 lb rise looks lenient. Neptunian will be a player if reproducing the form of his win at Windsor in the summer, with fellow three-year-old King of Jungle another to consider.

16:54 – Okeechobee

This is likely to rest between promising three-year-olds OKEECHOBEE and Educator. The latter is greatly respected on the strength of his Newmarket reappearance success in the spring, for all that his subsequent absence raises questions. However, Okeechobee has the look of a colt going places given the style of his performances on the all-weather and he is taken to complete the hat-trick on his handicap debut.

17:30 – La Pulga

The vote goes to LA PULGA, who left this season’s previous efforts well behind when third at Newbury, an effort which offered plenty of encouragement with regard to the potential suitability of this new trip. He remains on an attractive mark (runner-up off 8 lb higher in a nursery last term) and the booking of Ryan Moore adds to his appeal. Oleg performed with credit at Kempton last time and is feared most for his top jumps yard.
