13:55 – Champ Kiely

It’s hard to get away from CHAMP KIELY who looked like a very smart prospect when bolting up in a maiden hurdle at the Galway festival and it would be a surprise if he didn’t manage to improve again. Lieutenant Highway is a big threat in his five-timer bid, although softer ground is a slight concern for him now. At a likely each-way price, the unexposed Senecia is interesting after a promising start to his career this summer.

14:30 – Watch The Weather (NAP)

Although beaten, WATCH THE WEATHER (nap) did little wrong in his hat-trick bid at Ballinrobe and can resume winning ways. Having been touched off in a good handicap at Killarney last month, Alvaro looks a big threat.

15:05 – Penny Jar

Plenty in with claims but PENNY JAR defied an absence to win at Bellewstown when last seen and a 6lb rise looks manageable having been freshened up again since. Alfieri probably has one in him from this mark and isn’t discounted after a couple of unseats in recent outings. It’s possible that Indie Belle needed her return earlier this month and she may show more this time.

15:43 – Winding River

It might be worth taking a chance on WINDING RIVER who hasn’t really taken to fences but seems on a good mark back over timber here. Florey Spud should be involved if he handles the ground and Marelly shouldn’t be far away if he can build on a promising enough handicap debut here earlier in the week.

16:18 – Bythesametoken

Tricky enough despite the small field but BYTHESAMETOKEN had a prep at Ballinrobe last month and can score on handicap bow. Local hope Mattie’s Mountain should be all the better for his C&D second on seasonal debut last Sunday.

Denis Hogan has his team in good shape and THECOMPANYSERGEANT can follow up his victory at Kilbeggan. Dark Image was far from disgraced in a decent winners’ contest at Ballinrobe and is a danger.
