13:05 – New Image

Although bred to want further, NEW IMAGE showed enough on his debut here back in June to suggest he could take some beating here, especially on easier ground. Ardad’s Great is another who will appreciate any ease in the ground but may not have as much scope for improvement as the selection. Hispanic looked like a work in progress at Naas and could well improve considerably here.

13:35 – Adelaide River

Though his stablemate Continuous is of interest, ADELAIDE RIVER has the pattern form in the book and he can confirm placings with Pivotal Trigger from the Group 3 Prix Des Chenes last time, with this livelier ground to suit. Crypto Force has obvious questions to answer but could get involved if returning to his debut run.

14:10 – Witch of the Wood

A typical late-season maiden. Mickey The Steel and Karakoul head the ratings but one who could improve past the pair is WITCH OF THE WOOD, who hasn’t been seen since a promising run in an opening day maiden at Naas which has worked out well.

14:45 – Distallate (NAP)

A nursery which may not take a lot of winning and DISTILLATE (nap) looks the one after a narrow Down Royal defeat when denied a clear run on the rails. Mile End was fifth in that race but could emerge the chief threat here if handling the drop in trip.

15:20 – Oviedo

Restricted to horses sold in the 2021 Goffs Orby Yearling Sale. Not too many can be ruled out. Hiawatha stays further but he should ensure that this is a true test and is respected, as is Hellsing, who won a Listed race over slightly further last time. However, OVIEDO gets the nod, having been third to one of the season’s leading juveniles in the Acomb Stakes last time. Zoinnocent, Wahaaj, Killybegs Warrior and The Franchise are others who should run well.

15:55 – Curraheen Princess

A dual C&D winner, CURRAHEEN PRINCESS is just 3lb higher than when beating some of these at Navan last time and has her favoured easy ground, so has plenty in her favour. Iva Batt is interesting for a yard in form, while Gordon Bennett, Thunder Eclipse and Strong Johnson are others to consider.

16:30 – Star of Cashel

Having roared back to form with an impressive win from an unfavourable draw at Listowel earlier this week, STAR OF CASHEL is difficult to oppose under a 7lb penalty. No Patience and Knocknakilla can go well, while Satono Chevalier can be forgiven a poor run in cheekpieces last time. Notforalongtime is interesting, while Casino Queen needs a market check on handicap debut. Derry Lad and Dazzling Spirit are in form but might find this trip too sharp.

17:05 – Pale Iris

Very competitive with five-timer seeking Dunum expected to head the market, along with Tuesday’s Listowel winner Mary Salome. However, preference is for PALE IRIS, a C&D winner who shaped nicely on her return last weekend at Gowran. Cosmic Vega and Half Nutz are others to consider, although the latter’s low draw is a possible negative.
