13:50 – Crystal Caprice
CRYSTAL CAPRICE progressed further and completed the hat-trick with a bit in hand at Ascot earlier this month, keeping on well to land the spoils by a length and a quarter. She is already useful and it’s highly unlikely that we’ve seen the best of her yet after just five starts. Trained by Sir Michael Stoute, she is certainly in the right hands to go on improving and this looks a good opportunity for her to make it four wins in a row now stepping up to listed level.
14:25 – Sea Silk Road
SEA SILK ROAD was possibly unsuited by the drop back in trip when finishing only fourth in the Prix de la Nonette at Deauville last month, just keeping on at the one pace to be beaten around three lengths. She is better judged on the form she showed when previously filling the runner-up spot in the Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot, passing the post just half a length behind the subsequent Irish Oaks winner Magical Lagoon. A repeat of that effort will give Sea Silk Road every chance in this Group 3 and she’ll have no excuses under today’s conditions.

15:00 – Commissioning
COMMISSIONING created an excellent impression when making a successful debut on the July Course eight weeks ago, hitting the front over a furlong out and quickly storming clear from there to win by three and a half lengths. That was a very promising start to her career and the break since is unlikely to have done her any harm. She is open to significant improvement and can take the step up in grade in her stride to establish herself as a potential classic contender for next year.
15:35 – Tempus
TEMPUS has won his last two starts at Group 3 level in good style, first winning the Sovereign Stakes at Salisbury and then defying a penalty to follow up in the Prix Quincey at Deauville. He proved better than ever on the last occasion, quickening to lead inside the final two furlongs and always doing enough late on to win by a length and three-quarters. He is clearly in the form of his life and this looks a weak Group 2 in which he might not need to improve to continue his winning sequence.
16:10 – Regal Honour
REGAL HONOUR has plenty to recommend him on pedigree (by Dubawi and a half-brother to a couple of smart winners) and the fact he cost 625,000 guineas as a yearling suggests he looks the part as well. Kolsai sets a fairly useful standard in this maiden having filled the runner-up spot on his debut at Leicester, but Regal Honour gets the vote to make a winning start for Charlie Appleby, who has an impressive 30% strike with newcomers at this course in the last five years.
16:45 – Siskany
SISKANY proved to be a disappointment when well beaten in the Legacy Cup at Newbury on Saturday, but he could be worth another chance now fitted with first-time cheekpieces after just six days off. He is clearly a smart performer on his day, as he showed when easily winning a listed race at Meydan in March. He also won a competitive handicap over this course and distance last year and his overall profile suggests he is not to write off just yet for his powerful connections.
17:20 – Stormy Ocean
STORMY OCEAN shaped much better than the bare result when third on his handicap debut at Wolverhampton in March, doing well to be beaten just half a length having done too much too soon from his wide draw. He has been gelded during his subsequent absence and there should be races to be won with him from a BHA mark of 90. After all, he is still relatively unexposed after just four starts and likely to have an even bigger effort in the locker when everything falls right.
