13:20 Ayr – Dirty Old Town

The selection ran an absolute Stormer at Doncaster behind New Kingdom, only failing by a head on that occasion. It won’t be hindrance on the return to a mile and he’s got an ideal inside stall position to work from.

13:40 Newbury – Stay Alert (each-way)

She hasn’t done much wrong so far this season, finishing behind future group one star Nashwa and running very well considering she was far too keen in a messy race last time at Haydock. Classic winning jockey of the moment David Egan takes over in the saddle, and she looks too big at an each-way price.

13:55 Ayr – Stormy Antartic

The old boy still has enough ability at this level and has previously won over this distance in very tidy fashion. He also has the added bonus of only having had the two starts so far this season so comes in a fresh individual and his trainer’s patient approach can pay off.

14:15 Newbury – Chil Chil

Chil Chil travelled ominously well into contention in the Sprint Cup, but the ground was just a little bit too quick. She will appreciate the easier company and should be able to travel into this as smoothly and find the ground conditions much more to her liking.

14:30 Ayr – Jump the Gun (each-way)

The selection ran a cracker at Ascot behind Fresh One, and was only beaten four lengths despite being very keen throughout the contest, and having no pace whatsoever to aim at late on. He wasn’t given a hard time once his winning opportunity had gone, dropping back down, sprinting in a strong run. Six furlongs will play to his strength, and he can be hitting the line strongly at a huge price.

14:50 Newbury – Sakheer

Sakheer was carrying plenty of condition for his debut effort at Windsor and unsurprisingly took a massive step forward when bolting up by six lengths at Haydock last time. He cost an absolute fortune at the sales (€550,000!) and can take another step towards repaying that purchase price with a victory here as he continues to climb the ladder.

15:05 Ayr – Queen Me

Queen Me looked pretty sharp on her debut at Haydock and proved that was no fluke with an excellent run in much better company at York on her second try. She only just failed to reel in the pacesetter on that occasion and sit comfortably at the head of the ratings band in here, off 106.

15:25 Newbury – Warren Point

His only defeat came over further on his third lifetime start, he made no mistake last time with an explosive change of gear at Goodwood, and has subsequently been raised another 8lb by the handicapper. That probably still underestimates where he is headed, and another big pot can go the way of the boys in blue.

15:40 Ayr – Gis a Sub (each-way)

This lad was a very good juvenile keeping smart company and we haven’t seen him all that much so far this season. His run last time was off a layoff, and following a gelding operation where he didn’t fare too badly, he looks just the type from a middle stall position to work his way into contention at the business end for last year’s winning stable.
