13:20 Ayr – Revich (each-way)

ITV Racing Saturday gets under way here with a handicap over 1m. REVICH is a little high in the handicap at present off a mark of 95 but he definitely has each-way claims for Richard Hannon and Danny Tudhope. My hope was a little below par at York last time but prior to that was a decent third at Goodwood and second at Epsom. Trip and track are no issues.

13:40 Newbury – Kemari (each-way)

ITV are also at Newbury Saturday for this Group 3 Legacy Cup over 1m3f. KEMARI has often been over further for Charlie Appleby including when placed over nearly two miles in Group 2 company. Last time, though, he ran very well over 1m4f at Goodwood behind Rebel’s Romance and I can’t see why he shouldn’t have each-way claims here for David Probert.

13:55 Ayr – Stormy Antartic (each-way)

This is the Listed Doonside Cup over 1m2f. Phantom Flight is the one to beat on ratings but I’ll risk a few quid each-way on STORMY ANTARTIC for Ed Walker and jockey George Dowing. Stormy usually goes over a bit shorter but he ran well over this distance at Goodwood two runs ago and if any rain comes he will be fine with that.

14:15 Newbury – Tis Marvellous

Another Group 3 in the World Trophy over 5f. TIS MARVELLOUS is a pretty decent horse when on song and was in great shape when scoring at Beverley last time. Paul Hanagan takes the mount for Clive Cox and with a rating of 109 (has been higher) there’s no reason why he won’t be bang there again.

14:30 Ayr – Snash

A handicap over 6f. SNASH stays this distance very strongly and was my selection when running at Ripon last time. Alas over the 6f at that course he never got going quick enough and stayed on strongly into sixth. Hopefully there will be a better pace to run at here and he will be very hard to boot out the frame for David Allan and Tim Easterby.

14:50 Newbury – Sakheer

Up to Group 2 class for the Mill Reef Stakes for juveniles over 6f., the first of Paddy’s Pick 5 races too. I have to stick with SAKHEER here for the winning St Leger team of David Egan and Roger Varian. Beaten on debut at Windsor, Sakheer was long odds on at Haydock last time and absolutely hacked up looking a very useful horse. Now the son of Zoffany has the chance to prove himself.

15:05 Ayr – Queen Me

It’s Group 3 company here for youngsters in the Firth of Clyde Stakes over 6f. As is often the case in this race many of these do not have anything like a rating for land a Group 3. QUEEN ME is the very obvious exception, having won nicely on debut at Haydock before chasing home Swingalong in the Lowther at York. A repeat of that effort should be good enough.

15:25 Newbury – Hamaki

A handicap over 1m2f. HAMAKI is improving fast for William Haggas and is an eachway player here under the excellent 5lb apprentice Adam Farragher. My hope is down in trip after scoring over 1m4f at Ascot last time but he has plenty of pace and should get a good pace to run at in this field.

15:40 Ayr – Bielsa (each-way)

The big betting race of the day in the Ayr Gold Cup Handicap over 6f. I banged in the winner of this with BIELSA last year ad I see no reason why he can’t go in again. He is only 1lb higher than this time last year and off 3lb higher was a fine seventh of twenty two in a handicap at York in May. Having gone up to 107 he’s a well handicapped horse again and has a huge chance for Kevin Stott and Kevin Ryan. I’ll be on each-way.

So best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas. You hear me Paddy?
