Having made up into a useful chaser since he last scored in this sphere at Warwick in April, MORTLACH is confidently expected to follow up his recent Newton Abbot victory and bag a fifth success of the season. Dame De Fortune looked to have more to offer when making a winning start over hurdles at Worcester and can chase home Fergal O’Brien’s 7yo ahead of Longstone Cowboy.

16:15 – The Navigator
Veteran Caius Marcius remains handily treated despite going up 3lb for his Perth success so is firmly in the picture, while hat-trick-seeking Latino Fling has a career-high mark to overcome but still merits serious consideration. Preference though is for the likeable THE NAVIGATOR who shaped as though this step up in trip would really suit when a strong-finishing second at Sedgefield and he can get back to winning ways.
16:45 – Raecius Felix
Consistent RAECIUS FELIX (nap) is an obvious player on the back of his recent Sedgefield win and he is taken to repeat his success in this race in 2020. Cardboard Gangster appeals as the pick of the rest for minor honours.
17:15 – Nastasiya
Past winners of this race Calliope and Strong Team can both feature, while Genever Dragon (second choice) is a big player if judged on his near-miss at Perth two starts ago. However, the suggestion is NASTASIYA, who took a big step back in the right direction when third at Sedgefield last month and could still have untapped potential over hurdles.
17:45 – Gold Des Bois
The one with least to prove is Tico Times, who comes here after drawing nicely clear to win at Cartmel last month, but the best handicapped runner is GOLD DES BOIS, who was below peak form when last seen in the spring but will be very hard to beat here if able to recapture his form from last autumn.

18:15 – Getaman
Winning pointer Racks Cross is still very unexposed as a chaser and it will be interesting to see whether today’s drop back from 3m pays dividends but GETAMAN has been in good form all summer and looks the safest option. Stephen Mulqueen performed a minor miracle to remain on board Spark Of Madness before winning at Perth in May, and that partnership is next on the list.
18:45 – Moonshine Molly
Olly Murphy’s MOONSHINE MOLLY managed only fifth when favourite for her debut at Southwell in April but she probably ended up with too much to do in a tactical race there and, in view of her trainer’s usual prowess in bumpers, it might pay to give her another chance. Market Rasen winner Lady Stanwix is respected, while Blue Clover is arguably the most interesting among the newcomers.
