13:05 – America Belle
This doesn’t look a deep race and AMERICAN BELLE won’t have to improve much on what she has already shown to come out on top. She has finished third on both of her starts so far but arguably shaped like the best long-term prospect at Newmarket last time, travelling well but still looking inexperienced under pressure. There should be more to come now and she looks the one to beat. Serious Look is expected to be on the premises once more, too.

13:40 – Cold Stare
COLD STARE hasn’t won for nearly a year, but as a result he has tumbled down the weights, and is one to be interested in at this level. He has finished nearer last than first on his last three starts, but he has generally been operating in stronger races than this, and wasn’t suited by a drop back to six furlongs at Haydock last time. He is now 7 lb lower than his last winning mark and is worth chancing in an open race. Elsals and Lord Rapscallion are a couple of others to consider.
14:15 – Derry Lad
Plenty of these arrive with chances in the Jump Jockeys Derby but it may pay to side with the in-form Irish raider DERRY LAD. He won a mile and a quarter handicap at Sligo earlier in the season and has run just as well in defeat the last twice over this trip. The form of his latest outing looks solid and the booking of Aidan Coleman is another plus. Thibault, who will benefit from the likely good gallop, is feared most.
14:50 – Arthur’s Victory
ARTHUR’S VICTORY opened her account over seven furlongs at this course last year and followed up from a mark only 1 lb lower than this one at Wolverhampton on her next start. She has been working her way back to fitness so far this season and arguably proved better than ever at Yarmouth last time, so there is plenty to like about her chances, especially now stepping up in trip. Beautiful Crown and veteran Restorer, who also arrive on the back of creditable efforts, can also play a part.
15:25 – Greatness Awaits
GREATNESS AWAITS found a little improvement fitted with a first-time visor when runner-up over course and distance last week, given a well-judged ride from the front and likely to have held on if he had handled the track a little bit better. That experience won’t be lost on him and he looks the way to go in a slightly lesser race from the same mark. However, Edinburgh Rock and Away Wit Da Fairys both make plenty of appeal in opposition.

16:00 – Curtiz
CURTIZ has failed to shine in four starts so far this season, but he’s now 3 lb lower in the weights compared to when landing this race last year and is worth chancing back at a course where he clearly excels. Sly Madam is feared greatly on the back of her thoroughly decisive course and distance success last week, for all that a number of her rivals that day seemingly failed to fire.
16:35 – Mount Kosciuszko
MOUNT KOSCIUSZKO remains relatively unexposed and is a horse to keep on the right side judged by his last two wins. He has found improvement since being fitted with blinkers and he was readily on top at the line at Brighton last time from a next-time-out winner. He has been given a break since, this track should suit, and a subsequent 3 lb rise shouldn’t be enough to prevent a hat-trick. Tudor and Improvise head the opposition.
