THE GREEN MAN was odds on when winning a C&D novice last month and then bumped into an improver on his return to handicaps at Newmarket. Might be on a tough mark but Alice Bond claims 7lb.
14:05 Uttoxeter – De Barley Basket (Irish Herald, Ian Gaughran)
DE BARLEY BASKET came back from a long absence to win twice in the spring. Pulled up next time but back on track (after wind surgery) with creditable third in stronger Stratford contest last month. Bold bid from the front expected.
14:40 Uttoxeter – Minella Plus (The Scotsman, Glendale)
MINELLA PLUS had three wins at the end of last year. Not so good in three starts early in 2022 and now back from six months off. Return of a hood a possible plus as is the stable form.
15:00 Doncaster – Shine On Brendan (On The Nose, Expert Eye)
SHINE ON BRENDAN is 5-8 since joining Jim Goldie and he goes on all ground. Hld-up performer who should get a true pace to aim at and has the assistance of Kieren Fallon in the saddle. Every chance on these terms.
