13:45 – Silencer

Plenty of solid form to his name having contested the likes of the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot and a couple of strong nurseries, SILENCER recorded a career-best effort on his latest start over six furlongs at this course. He looked the likely winner for much of the closing stages that day and will have no problem dropping back to five furlongs. He sets a good standard and should be hard to beat. Nigel Tinkler’s Squealer is going the right way and heads the dangers.

14:20 – Aleezdancer

A three-time winner as a juvenile who was highly tried at times, too, ALEEZDANCER opened his account for this season in good style at Ripon last month. He proved that day that sprinting is his game, relishing the drop back to six furlongs and having a bit up his sleeve at the finish. There could be more to come from him kept to this distance and a subsequent 4 lb rise isn’t insurmountable. He is taken to see off the challenge of Azure Blue, who produced a career best when successful at Newmarket on her latest outing.

14:55 – Gale Force Maya

Enjoying another terrific season, winning three times, and GALE FORCE MAYA wasn’t seen to best effect from a wide draw in a similar contest at Pontefract last time. She seems to save her best for this track, though, a two-time course and distance winner this year, and on her best form, she should be well up to recording a first win in listed company. The thriving Prisoner’s Dilemma should once again give it another good go, while Primo Bacio can’t be discounted either dropping back in grade and trip.

15:30 – Signora Camacho

Cases can be made for most but the most persuasive is for SIGNORA CAMACHO. John Quinn’s filly has progressed well since entering handicaps and she’s fancied to improve further today and complete a hat-trick. Dare To Hope heads the list of dangers having hit the frame in a valuable sales race over course and distance last month.

16:05 – The Predictor

THE PREDICTOR bumped into a very progressive sort – who has won again since – on his first try at two miles at Doncaster in July and you can put a line through his latest start. He returned to his Doncaster form when opening his account at Thirsk last week, barely needing to improve with the cheekpieces refitted, though he did well under the circumstances, overcoming a pace pias and showing a willing attitude. A subsequent 3 lb rise in the weights looks lenient on the face of it and he is preffered to Mukha Magic, who arrives at the top of his game.

16:40 – Samuel Spade

Relatively lightly raced and showed the benefit of a step up in trip when SAMUEL SPADE opened his account in a mile and a quarter handicap at Haydock last month, given a patient ride but finding plenty to prevail in the closing stages. That looked strong form for the grade at the time and the second and third both won next time, so Samuel Spade looks competitively weight up 7 lb and another bold bid is expected. Mr Big Stuff is probably in better form than his recent form figures imply and he looks the main danger.

17:15 – Lullaby Bay

A competitive sprint handicap to close the card where a chance is taken on LULLABY BAY to get back on the up returned to handicap company. She won her first three starts in handicap company but found the step up to listed company too much at Ayr last time despite going with plenty of zest. This test should suit much better and she remains feasibly treated from a mark of 86. Mattice and Riversway are both improving and are others to add to the shortlist.
