Charles Hills’ charge Dark Shift is a very strong traveller. He doesn’t mind slower ground which is all important if it rains. Reach For The Moon is visored to sharpen him up after a poor run last time and the drop back in trip is no problem to him. The value is with the dashing grey, Dark Shift.
14:05 Kempton – Gear Up
It’s interesting that Joseph O’Brien sends Gear Up over for this having beaten Cleveland at Leopardstown last time. That is very good form and he is a major player here. The obvious one is Dubai Honour but he is short enough in the betting.

14:20 Haydock – Adjuvant
Benoit de la Sayette is still able to claim 3lbs and that will be a help to Adjuvant who ran a good race against easy the winner Soulcombe in a competitive race at York. That was a good run. Inverness is another who could impress.
14:40 Kempton – My Mate Ted
Roger Teal has had a little bit of bad luck with a couple of his high-profile horses getting injured but My Mate Ted was a good winner at the track last time having blown the cobwebs away at Haydock before that. There’s more to come from him and he’s lightly raced this season.
14:55 Haydock – Euchen Glen
Easy York winner Soulcombe is the obvious one, but the market has him well found. Euchen Glenhas to be a player at the weights. He has run in some good races this season and was maybe too far back in the Ebor when running on really well to finish in the places, but this contest will suit him down to the ground.

Charlie Appleby is having a hell of a season for Godolphin and Naval Crown can add to that. He was second in the July Cup and this Haydock Sprint Cup looks tailor made for him. Last year’s winner Emaraaty Ana has to be a player at a big price too.
