16:30 – Embour
Embour has dropped down to a very attractive handicap mark as he hasn’t won since April 2021. Although he was a little disappointing last time, he ran an absolute stormer under William Carver at Goodwood two starts back, suggesting that his time was near. Carver rides again, he’s drawn in stall six, so he will get plenty of cover which he will need, in the early stages.

17:00 – Michaelas Boy (each-way)
Michaela’s Boy has not gone on to win since his debut success over course and distance last April. He’s not had too many opportunities at a realistic level to win again though and was aimed very high in the Super Sprint last time at Newbury so we can put a line through that. He also runs for the Michael Appleby stable for the first time who may be able to squeeze a little bit of improvement out of him. He’s an each-way play at a price.

17:30 – Dora Penny
Dora Penny has been going through the grades really smoothly and is looking for the five timer. Normally you would expect the winning run to come to an end, however, she was as impressive last time off a mark of 79 to suggest that a mere 4lb rise in the handicap will not slow her down enough to stop the winning sequence.
18:00 – Croupier
Croupier put together a couple of nice runs at the back end last season and ran really well on his belated debut around headquarters last time. He was entitled to need the outing off such a lengthy absence and after hitting a flat spot, he ran on strongly inside suggesting that a step up to this distance will suit him.
18:30 – Majestic
Majestic has been in cracking form of late for the Channon team and although he reappears just five days after his latest effort at Beverly, he warrants plenty of respect. He was just about the only runner to make any inroads from the back of the pack on that occasion and expect him to be ridden slightly more aggressively earlier on now.
19:00 – Typical Woman
Typical Woman didn’t get a clear run at Sandown last time when she was continuously bumped and checked for room from the quarter mile pole. With a clear passage she surely would’ve gone close and she looks as if she is improving and starting to grow into her frame. Saffie Osborne also takes a very valuable 3lb off her back.

19:30 – Le Forban
Le Forban ran really well in the Racing League three weeks ago at Lingfield after being woefully outpaced as the race hotted up and then hitting the line very strongly. He did well in the circumstances. He’s not had that much racing on the turf so the hope is he will be as effective on the grass as a synthetic surface. We have a positive jockey booking in Ben Curtis on our side too.
