And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.

So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets). The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the table. Let’s get to the bets.

14.15 Yarmouth – Brilliant Light

Returned from spell in Dubai with win at Ripon (1m2f, good to firm) in May and has performed admirably well in three red-hot handicaps since; looked a shade unlucky when running-on second of 18 at Glorious Goodwood (1m2f, good) last time and commands respect off only 1lb higher here.

15.00 Goodwood – Savvy Victory

Won Pontefract maiden (1m2f, soft); highly tried on next three starts but went mighty close from the front when making his handicap debut in a four-runner race at Doncaster (1m2f, good) on latest outing; has an unchanged mark but the last-gasp winner has scored again since; bold show is likely.

15.15 Beverley – Beautiful Aisling

Consistent in four races to date; didn’t have much chance in the Albany at Royal Ascot (50-1) but she readily landed the odds in a five-runner C&D novice (good to firm) on her next outing; in good hands and a leading contender on handicap debut.

15.35 Goodwood – Double or Bubble

Kept to 6f this season, winning the Abernant first time back and under 4l away in the Platinum Jubilee and the July Cup (both Group 1s); sights lowered quite considerably here but, while returning to 7f won’t hurt (runner-up in this last year), all her worthwhile turf form is on good or quicker ground and she was well below par the once on good to soft; class can still see her competitive.
