Outrun The Storm has been consistent off marks of around 75-77. He sets the standard, but if there’s an improver in the field, he can be beaten. Majestic could be the one to beat him while Hathlool impressed when winning at Leicester in July. I’ll side with Majestic to beat Outrun The Storm but it’s not a super solid fancy.
Bright Diamond won her maiden at Newmarket earlier this month and I loved the way she did it. She quickened up and maintained her speed up the hill on the July course. That was on good to firm ground and while it mightn’t be quite that quick at Goodwood after the thunderstorms, I’ll still side with her.
Post Impressionist wears a tongue tie for the first time and was a solid second at Newcastle in May. I’ll take a chance on him to beat the likely favourite, Wait To Excel.
King Of Stars will blitz forward from stall nine and how much damage he does going across will dictate who wins this race. Tis Marvellous is drawn in stall seven and he won’t get too badly hampered by that. He won this race last year and he’s dropped in the weights too.
This is the first race in Paddy’s Pick 5 competition on Saturday. Hoo Ya Mal looks hard to oppose for William Buick and George Boughey. There isn’t much else to add!

Daneh could be anything but she hasn’t had a run in almost a year. Who knows how good she is? I like the look of Pure Dreamer, who has improved a lot. I’m not sure he has the rating to win the race but we’ll see. He’s had five runs this season and has won four of them.
I’ve been looking for something capable of beating Mutasaabeq but I can’t see anything! The ground could be a little slow and we know he can handle that. He’s won on soft ground in the past.

13:50 Goodwood – Bright Diamond
Bright Diamond won her maiden at Newmarket earlier this month and I loved the way she did it. She quickened up and maintained her speed up the hill on the July course. That was on good to firm ground and while it mightn’t be quite that quick at Goodwood after the thunderstorms, I’ll still side with her.
14:05 Beverley – Post Impressionist
Post Impressionist wears a tongue tie for the first time and was a solid second at Newcastle in May. I’ll take a chance on him to beat the likely favourite, Wait To Excel.
14:25 Goodwood – Orbaan
I originally wanted to back Ropey Guest but he hasn’t been declared so I don’t have a selection to take on the favourite, Orbaan!
14:40 Beverley – Tis Marvellous
King Of Stars will blitz forward from stall nine and how much damage he does going across will dictate who wins this race. Tis Marvellous is drawn in stall seven and he won’t get too badly hampered by that. He won this race last year and he’s dropped in the weights too.
