16:30 – Rodney Bay

But for a mistake at the last, RODNEY BAY would have gone close to shedding his maiden tag at Downpatrick and he can make amends on this occasion. Benny The Duke looks the main threat to the selection and Virtual Oscar makes each-way appeal.

17:00 – Sheishybrid

From a stable in much better form lately, SHEISHYBRID can land this prize after following up her maiden hurdle win at Cork with a fine run on the Flat at Tramore. Just Jacob is on a roll and looks a big danger while Sligo winner Faron may fare best of those towards the top of the handicap.

17:30 – Paidis Passion

This looks open but PAIDI’S PASSION stayed on nicely when second on hurdling debut at Roscommon and can score at the expense of Killoughteen and Knocknagappagh.

18:00 – Sittingonthefence

Having narrowly failed to land a gamble at this venue last month, SITTINGONTHEFENCE (nap) can go one better with in-form Danny Mullins taking over in the saddle. Glenmalure Lodge and Menindee are closely matched on a clash here last month and both have claims as well.

18:30 – Chief Seattle

On the back of a recent win Townhill Penny is the obvious starting point, and off a mere 5lb higher mark, she looks destined to play a major hand. However, slight preference is for CHIEF SEATTLE. Chasing of late, but successful over hurdles here in July off a 6lb lower mark, her stable has won this race for the last two years, and all the recent evidence suggests a hat-trick of victories could well be on the cards. Western Dreaming, Appian Way and Whatsstoppingyou should also be bang there.

19:00 – Cape Gentleman

A highly respectable ninth in the ‘Plate’ especially considering it was his first start for 241-days, CAPE GENTLEMAN sets the standard here and he clearly came out of the race in fine fettle, as highlighted by his win on the flat at Killarney last week. The trip is probably as short as he wants to go, but he can be expected to make it a good test, and with a nice cushion over his nearest rated rival, pretty much everything is in his favour today. The race could be run to suit Fan De Blues and he looks the biggest threat to our selection.

19:30 – Ramondo Dnzeo

Tricky stuff to say the least, but a chance is taken on RAMONDO DNZEO. A 3m maiden hurdle winner at Cork in July, he looks the type that could develop into a handy chaser and he has a nice opportunity here to lay down an early marker. The experienced pair Norwigi and Ujumpthelastuwin will not be short of support but bigger dangers could well be Whacker Clan and Mutual Respect.

20:00 – Little Soiree

Betty Dutton has shaped nicely over hurdles, on latest closing the market leader down at the line when a close second at Tramore. Her rider’s 7lb claim here is nice ammunition to bring to battle, but with the champion trainer in typically good form of late, the newcomer LITTLE SOIREE could prove to be her downfall. Successful with a winning favourite in this race last year, if the market is strong for this Vendangeur filly, it would a huge concern for her rivals. Phils Choice and I Am Shadow are others to take on board.
