18:05 – King Charles
Jack Yeats went very close over 1m6f at Redcar two weeks ago and is a big player if he can back that up, while Vertice forged clear in a classified event at Southwell in March and is respected back in a 1m6f handicap on her return. However, the one that appeals most is the resurgent KING CHARLES, who has won over C&D and at Ayr in two of his last three starts and is only 2lb higher than for his brave success under Jessica Llewellyn last time.

18:40 – Talamanca
Byefornow is still unexposed and looks a possible improver on her step up to 6f, while there are plenty of nursery newcomers who need watching in the market including Yoo Bee See, who showed promise behind a progressive subsequent winner in a Salisbury novice last time. However, it’s hard to get away from Richard Spencer’s major improver TALAMANCA, who has won in emphatic style at Windsor and Catterick in his last two runs and may well be able to strike again under a double penalty.

19:15 – Okeechobee
This match can go to the very well-bred OKEECHOBEE, who stepped up on his promising debut effort when forging clear at Kempton two weeks ago and sets a useful standard under a penalty for that impressive success. Dubai Immo has some fair form in the book but he’s 0-7 and has been very disappointing on turf and Polytrack in his last two runs.
19:50 – Wendell’s Lass
Preference is for Ed Dunlop’s lightly raced filly WENDELL’S LASS, who showed clear promise with her keeping-on second behind a subsequent winner at Chelmsford ten days ago and is open to further progress on this step up to 2m. The main threat could come from Kitten’s Dream, who is only 1lb higher than for his 2m win at Southwell in April and looks interesting on this big step back up in trip.
20:25 – Asraabb (NAP)
Top of the list is Roger Varian’s well-bred filly ASRAABB (nap), who found improvement with her clearcut win at Chelmsford ten days ago and is a major player again under a penalty in her bid to make it 2-2 in handicaps. Most of the others have something to prove, but Young Winston went close at Yarmouth last time and could pose a serious threat if he can back that up for his new yard.

Malcolm (second choice) should be up to winning at this level and the step up in trip may be of benefit. TIMESTAMP has made a mockery of his opening handicap mark, though, and the drop back to 1m4f with a 12lb penalty may not prevent a quick-fire hat-trick.
