13:50 – Dramatised

Paddy’s Pick 5 gets underway on Thursday with the Group 2 Lowther for juvenile fillies over 6f. The Queen Mary form is hardly bombproof but that said the Karl Burke team have always considered DRAMATISED special and I suspect she will show she’s a cut above this lot for Danny Tudhope. While the Royal Ascot win might not have a lot of substance the daughter of Showcasing scored in some style.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

14:25 – Redemption Time (each-way)

This is a sales race for two-year-olds over 6f. I’ll risk REDEMPTION TIME each-way here for Clive Cox and Adam Kirby. The colt showed blinding speed to lead in his early days but then missed the break and got hampered when trying to recover in the Norfolk at Royal Ascot. Clearly he’s better than that run suggests and I presume has been laid out for this big prize.

15:00 – Cruyff Turn (each-way)

A heritage handicap over 1m. A lot of these are right at the hilt of their handicap marks. That includes CRUYFF TURN who was a good winner at this track in May. He disappointed at Royal Ascot was back to form last time when running on well in the Bunbury Cup. A mark of 100 might not be impossible so I’ll put him up each-way in a very tricky race!

15:35 – Alpinista

The feature of the day in the Group 1 Yorkshire Oaks for fillies and mares over 1m 4f. I’d rather Tuesday was over 1m 2f so I have no problem putting up multiple Group 1 winner ALPINISTA. Her wins have been abroad for Sir Marl Prescott and Luke Morris but her success in France last time was decent and she’s clearly very good. Was second to Love in this in 2020.

16:10 – Golden Lyra

Finally the Listed Galtres Stakes  for fillies and mares over 1m 4f. Lots of possible improvers in here but none more so than GOLDEN LYRA representing the powerful William Haggas and Tom Marquand combination. The daughter of  Lope de Vega has done little wrong in three starts and appears a promising type. Stays well.

So best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas. You hear me Paddy?
