13:30 – Queen’s Eyot

Such a quick turnaround is the main potential negative for QUEEN’S EYOT but it also looks a very sensible move as he’s able to run off the same mark as when beaten a short-head on nursery debut over the extended seven furlongs at Ffos Las on Thursday. In addition, Harry Davies has been booked for the ride to take off a further 5 lb, while he was arguably a touch unlucky in defeat having been made to wait for a run at a crucial time last week.

14:00 – Sherbet Fountain

SHERBET FOUNTAIN cost 380,000 euros at the Arqana breeze-up sale in May so must have shown a significant degree of professionalism and she could be the answer here given those with previous racecourse experience haven’t displayed anything out of the ordinary. Trainer David Simcock is capable of readying a newcomer and she’ll have to go well here if living up to her Group 1 Fillies’ Mile entry in October.

14:30 – Maghlaak

The Charlie Hills-trained MAGHLAAK made a promising debut in a strong-looking novice over course and distance at the start of the month, finishing behind a couple of rivals with experience under their belt. He’s closely related to a number of high-class performers and could have a bright future himself if progressing from the first run as expected.

15:00 – Alooqaal

Irish import ALOOQAAL was the latest recruit to make a winning start for shrewd trainer Mick Appleby and he looked good value for his neck success over seven furlongs here at the start of August. He’s been raised 5 lb but should remain highly competitive and a step back up in distance to a mile should play to the strengths of the son of Zoffany.

15:30 – Out From Under

OUT FROM UNDER has proved quite expensive to follow since winning his maiden on the Rowley Mile at Newmarket in mid-April but he’s acquitted himself well on each start and bumped into a very well-treated rival when runner-up to the subsequent Haydock winner Tarrabb at Ascot last month. He’s been left on the same mark (83) and the son of Dubawi very much rates the one to beat if handing a switch to the all-weather here.

16:00 – Willem Twee

James Fanshawe is a dab hand when it comes to progressive sprinters and he’s seemingly got another smart three-year-old on his hands in the shape of WILLEM TWEE. He won his maiden at the third time of asking over six furlongs at Doncaster in June and followed up at the same venue just under a month later, snugly beating She’s The Danger having travelled strongly throughout. A subsequent 6 lb rise looks more than fair and his Group 1 Champions Sprint entry suggests he could still be several steps ahead of the assessor.

16:30 – Limited Edition

LIMITED EDITION has been holding his form well this year and his latest effort over a similar trip here earlier in the month can be marked up slightly as he had to make his challenge from the back of the field and was forced to come around rivals in the final couple of furlongs. He was staying on at the finish and can go even closer having been eased 1 lb, meaning he’s now just 1 lb higher than when successful at this track last September.
