The first of Paddy’s Pick 5 free to enter £/€10k racing competition and Robert Cowell’s charge ran an absolute cracker at the Goodwood meeting 22 days ago, despite being very keen in the early stages. He’s not the easiest from a jockey’s perspective but the excellent Rossa Ryan takes over at the steering wheel. Hopefully, he can get him into a rhythm early as there is no doubt Atalis Bay has untapped ability.

Richard Hannon’s runner was always holding on in the closing stages when winning on his racecourse debut at Newbury 32 days ago and the step up in distance to 7f is going to suit him perfectly. Hectic is a great, big, powerhouse so the team have been very patient with him but he looks worth following throughout the remainder of his juvenile campaign.
FANCY WINNING £/€10K AT YORK ON WEDNESDAY?
15:00 Aikhal
Irish challenger Aikhal boasts some very high-class juvenile form last year and was thrown in the deep end on seasonal debut at the Royal meeting on his return. He obviously took a huge step forward from that run when winning very easily over 1m 2f at the Curragh last time. This is his first try at the 1m 4f trip and can serve it up to the Godolphin runners.
15:35 Baaeed
The equine superstar Baaeed looks to maintain his unbeaten record on his first try over 1m 2f. The only stumbling block I can see is that there is no guaranteed pace in here. Native Trail may well take them along on the front end and set him a sterner test of stamina than he may like. A reverse forecast with those two could be the value play if you want to avoid playing the odds-on in the win market with Baaeed.

My selection has built a very impressive profile both on a synthetic surface and the turf. Haveyoumissedme is very flexible regarding distance but, over this 2m trip, he has a potent weapon in a very formidable change of gear. Jockey Andrew Mullen possibly went too early on him when beaten by Zoffee at Newcastle a couple of starts ago but I expect him to be played much later here.
