13:50 Catterick – Point Of Honour

This looks trappy but it might be worth sticking with POINT OF HONOUR, who opened up a clear lead before holding off a finisher at Musselburgh last time and is a big player again on this drop back to 1m4f. Last month’s Beverley winner Irv looks worth a try at this new trip and he’s feared most, ahead of Sameem who went close at Haydock last time. The other one on the shortlist is last year’s winner The Dancing Poet, who is well handicapped if he can get back near his best.

15:30 Lingfield – Suanni

Saaheq saw off The Defiant, Mick’s Spirit and Wings Of A Dove over C&D early last month and perhaps the last-named, who blew the start that day, will do best of the quartet on the revised terms. However, the vote goes to SUANNI, who’s been plying his trade in better company and showed more without the headgear at Newmarket last time.

16:40 Dundalk – Dances With Stars

DANCES WITH STARS‘ reliability here renders him more solid than recent form figures imply and his rider is good value for his claim. Ides Of August may show a bit more now.

18:50 Windsor – La Roca Del Fuego

Preference is for LA ROCA DEL FUEGO, who put in a dominant display over C&D in April and resumed his progress with a close third in a big field at York last time. Treacherous was a good fourth of 15 in a Class 2 event here two weeks ago and could be a big danger if he gets a good pace to aim at on his drop to 5f. Others to consider are Son And Sannie and Lipsink.
