FLORIDA FILLY failed to fire in a six-furlong nursery on her handicap debut at York a few weeks ago but she is better judged on the form she had shown when defying a penalty at Hamilton on her previous start. That form is just about the best on offer and was achieved over five furlongs, so the return to the minimum trip should suit.

14:15 – Ironopolis
IRONOPOLIS was very green on debut at Redcar last month but he offered something to work on, making some late headway into fourth. Ironopolis should be sharper with that outing under his belt, while the way he kept on at the end of that seven-furlong affair suggests the step up to a mile will bring about some improvement.
14:50 – Summerghand
SUMMERGHAND is still searching for his first win this season but he shaped like coming back to the boil when sixth at York’s Dante meeting and fifth in the Wokingham at Royal Ascot. He strengthened the view that he is back in good form in the Stewards’ Cup last time, shaping much better than his finishing position of ninth would suggest as he met plenty of trouble and had to weave his way through. The handicapper has given him a chance by dropping him a further 2 lb in the weights and he can take advantage to go one better than he managed in this race in 2019.
15:25 – Pisanello
PISANELLO has largely performed with credit this season and he ran up to his best when third at Thirsk a couple of weeks ago. Pisanello was only beaten a head and a length on that occasion, despite being slightly hampered inside the final furlong, and he ought to give another good account.

16:00 – Make A Prophet
MAKE A PROPHET has had to settle for second the last twice but this looks like a good opportunity for him to gain a deserved success. Make A Prophet benefited from the step up to this sort of trip at Beverley on his penultimate start, doing some good work at the finish, and he ran well when filling the same position over that course and distance last time. He is able to run off the same mark here and holds strong claims.
16:33 – High Born Eagle
HIGH BORN EAGLE didn’t make much of an impact in maiden and novice company but she is open to improvement as she steps up in trip on her handicap debut. High Born Eagle is bred to be suited by middle-distances – she is by Free Eagle and out of a mile-and-a-quarter winner – so it would be little surprise to see her fare better now faced with a stiffer test of stamina.
