After collecting a good prize at Haydock on Sunday, progressive 3yo SILKY WILKIE is taken to complete a quick double off the same mark here. Dusky Prince, another improving 3yo, wasn’t far behind the selection at Glorious Goodwood a fortnight ago and is earmarked as a likely danger. Good Luck Fox lurks on an attractive mark and is next on the list.

Jane Chapple-Hyam’s newcomer Idee Fixee has a very good pedigree and will be feared if strong in the betting but INDEMNIFY ran to a fairly useful level when second on his last two starts and is unlikely to remain a maiden for much longer.

Rushford got the better of Pons Aelius at Sandown last month and probably still has more improvement to come if the cheekpieces continue to have a positive effect. However, the fourth in that race, FIRST OFFICER, found himself trapped in a pocket in the home straight and was never able to build up enough momentum. With better luck here, he might be the answer.

Four Newmarket-trained fillies clash in this very interesting handicap. SHAARA overcame a penalty fairly comfortably in a Haydock novice last month and that form has been very well advertised by the runner-up since. She gets the nod ahead of Terra Mitica, who won in a good time on her latest outing.

Gilbert has done well in recent weeks and could still have more improvement to come but SAULIRE STAR posted a sound effort when placed in a better race than this at Carlisle recently and remains only 1lb above the mark she overcame at Ripon in June. Last-time-out winner Masque Of Anarchy has a mixed record for his new stable this year but won’t be far away if on a going day.
