13:25 – Centrefold
CENTREFOLD appeals as a very interesting newcomer in this novice event. She is certainly bred to be smart (by Showcasing and out of an unraced half-sister to the Sprint Cup/Prix Maurice de Gheest winner Regal Parade) and the fact she cost 240,000 guineas as a yearling suggests she looks the part as well. She must be held in high regard if her Rockfel/Cheveley Park entries are anything to go by and a big run on debut certainly wouldn’t surprise.

14:00 – Leadman
LEADMAN shaped with plenty of encouragement when filling the runner-up spot on his debut at Newmarket last month, sticking to his task well to pass the post just a length and a quarter behind the winner. That form is working out well (the fourth and fifth both won next time) and a repeat of that effort will give Leadman every chance of getting off the mark. With further progress also on the cards, he is very hard to oppose.
14:35 – Hodler
HODLER produced a career best to regain the winning thread at Sandown three weeks ago, hitting the front entering the final two furlongs and just needing to be kept up to his work from there to land the spoils by two lengths. He is very much the type to go on improving and a 4 lb rise in the weights is unlikely to be enough to stop him in his follow-up bid. The booking of Saffie Osborne, who is good value for her 3lb claim, also gives cause for optimism.
15:10 – Katey Kontent
KATEY KONTENT shaped better than the bare result when sixth in the Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot last time, doing well to be beaten only five and a half lengths given that she raced closer to the strong gallop than ideal. This represents a significant drop in class and she is well worth another chance to confirm the promise she showed when winning her first two starts at Salisbury and Windsor in the style of a smart filly.

15:40 – Miss Attitude
MISS ATTITUDE showed improved form to get off the mark in a maiden at Sandown last week, making all to win by a length in comfortable fashion. That was a big step in the right direction and she remains one to keep on the right side now making the switch to nurseries. After all, a BHA mark of 71 already looks a good starting point to life in this sphere and there should be more to come from her after just four starts.
16:10 – Ascending
ASCENDING looked a useful prospect when gaining the first success of his career in a handicap at Goodwood nine weeks ago, only winning by a length but looking value for extra after meeting a bit of trouble. He was going away at the line and the manner of that victory suggests he was full value for a 4 lb rise in the weights. Still relatively lightly raced, he may yet have more to offer and seems sure to go well again in his follow-up bid.
16:40 – Mrembo
MREMBO ran another solid race when third at Newmarket last time, keeping on well to pass the post just a length and a quarter behind the winner. She is 1 lb lower in the weights today and the fact she arrives at the top of her game promises to count for a lot in a race where plenty of her rivals have questions to answer. Having won at Bath earlier this season, Mrembo is fancied to go in again to double her career tally.
