WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!
17:15 – Royal Prospect
The three last-time-out winners at the top of the racecard are the only ones that make any significant appeal. Eagle Eyed Freddie and Temper Trap (preferred in that order) are both respected but ROYAL PROSPECT got back in the groove with a good win at Carlisle last week and can overcome a 4lb penalty here.

18:15 – Secret Mistral
Act Of Will stuck to his task very well when second over the stiff 6f at Carlisle on his debut in June but it remains to be seen whether today’s easier test will suit and preference is for SECRET MISTRAL, who didn’t see out 6f at Chester after setting a good pace last time but showed some good form over that trip at Haydock beforehand and looks interesting back at 5f. Expeditious and Not For Profit are other key players.
18:45 – Lily In The Jungle
She didn’t beat much in a C&D seller last month but LILY IN THE JUNGLE drew a long way clear in the final furlong and clocked a time that suggests she can be a force at this higher level, assuming the cheekpieces continue to have a positive effect. She gets the nod ahead of nursery newcomers Granny B and Stunt Game.
19:15 – Foreseeable Future
David Chapman’s granddaughter Ruth Carr can win his memorial race with FORESEEABLE FUTURE (nap), who ran well in defeat behind a subsequent winner when dropped to 5f at Thirsk last month and remains unexposed over this trip. Canaria Prince scores high marks for his consistency this season and is second choice. Red Walls is an each-way option to consider.
19:45 – King Eagle
The most interesting runner is handicap debutant KING EAGLE, who didn’t live up to his pedigree on his first two outings but took a good step forward when fifth in an AW novice last month and has plenty of scope for further improvement. C&D winner Trojan Horse might be difficult to reel in if allowed an uncontested lead. Gibside, also a C&D winner, is next on the list.
20:20 – Piastrella
Nigel Tinkler’s PIASTRELLA comes here after winning in a slightly higher grade at York last month and doesn’t look harshly treated by a recent 3lb rise. She might be the answer but Head Chef is now just below the mark off which he won here in a first-time visor in June and will be a tough nut to crack if he responds well to the first-time blinkers. Panama City moves up in trip after last month’s maiden win and is also of interest.
