On the back of his encouraging nursery debut at Lingfield, TALAMANCA holds leading form claims provided he’s as effective on turf. Sweet Fortune (second choice) and Gumais may prove the biggest dangers, as they appear to be improving.
14:20 – Supreme King
Circle Of Fire probably needs the most attention among the newcomers. However, he needs to be good if he’s to beat Berkshire Phantom and SUPREME KING who were runner-up at Ascot and Glorious Goodwood respectively last time out. There was plenty of promise for 7f in the latter’s performance 12 days ago.
14:50 – Heatherdown Hero
His tendency to race too freely remains a concern but HEATHERDOWN HERO seemed to enjoy the chance to bowl along in front when running well in a recent 1m2f handicap, and today’s drop back to 1m looks the right move. Maffeo Barberini seems more reliable than the others and is feared most.
15:20 – Misscall
The top six on the racecard have all been in good form lately, while Nickleby is well handicapped for today’s stable debut. It’s hard to know which way to turn but the combination of first-time cheekpieces and Taylor Fisher’s 7lb claim might give MISSCALL an edge. Musical Mystery, who also has cheekpieces added, is second choice.

15:52 – True Courage
The opposition to TRUE COURAGE looks very limited, so Michael Bell’s charge can register a first win since last July. He’s been knocking at the door in two of his last three races. Lexington Knight is the other one who showed something presentable last time.
16:22 – Ring of Light (NAP)
Cubanista opened his account with a very stylish win on soft ground in late June and it will be interesting to see how well he copes with the combination of fast ground and a 9lb higher mark here. However, preference is for RING OF LIGHT (nap), who ran well in defeat on his recent handicap debut and could easily have a lot more to offer. Bondi Girl and Attache are both likely to be on the premises.
16:52 – Duke Of Firenze
Another chance can be given to Maybe Tonight, who was a disappointing favourite last month but can still build on his promising seasonal/handicap debut in June. However, this is much easier than the races DUKE OF FIRENZE is used to contesting and the teenager could be very dangerous at this level.
