WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

15:45 – Silky Wilkie

It is hard to argue with the consistency of SILKY WILKIE so far in his career, yet to finish out of the front four and winning three times, with two of those wins coming this season. He opened his account for the season over this course and distance and proved better than ever when winning at Hamilton two starts back. Silky Wilkie lost little in defeat last time and he seems sure to give his running again. Stablemate Fast Response was firmly back to form at Thirsk and must be respected, too.

16:15 – Charyn

No form to go on here but there a plenty of intriguing newcomers as you’d expect in a race like this, and it is the well-bred CHARYN who is selected before market clues. He cost a cool 250,000 guineas as a yearling and is brother to the speedy Wings of War, while he also represents a top yard in red-hot form, so there is plenty to like on paper. Road To The East and Kitai are a couple of others to keep an eye on.

16:45 – Showtime Mahomes

The form SHOWTIME MAHOMES showed when winning one of the earlier races in this series at York is strong, so he’s given a chance to bounce back from a couple of lesser efforts and provide his trainer with a second successive win in this race. Rambuso Creek is a three-year-old heading in the right direction so rates an obvious danger for the Kevin Ryan team.

17:15 – Rich King

RICH KING showed promise in three runs last year and showed improved form for a gelding operation and switch to handicaps when runner-up at Redcar on his return in April. He bumped into another well-handicapped sort on that occasion and the form on the whole worked out well, so it was no surprise to see him go one place better over course and distance next time. That form is also strong, so he is well worth forgiving his latest effort at Southwell, where he was given too much to do and shaped better than the bare result. Rich King is undoubtedly still on a good mark and he is expected to prove that point now. American Flag’s form in maiden/novice events from last year is also working out well and he’s of interest now handicapping on the back of a gelding operation.

17:45 – Indian Dream

A gelding operation seemingly enabled INDIAN DREAM to go about things in a far more professional manner when opening his account at Epsom 10 days ago and, with the potential of better to come now handicapping, Michael Bell’s charge gets the tentative vote to follow up in a competitive race. Breaking on terms has been an issue for Have Secret but he clearly possesses plenty of ability so he should also  be in the mix, along with Nap Hand.

18:15 – Queen Aminatu

QUEEN AMINATU made a promising start to the year with a couple of wins over seven furlongs on the all-weather at Wolverhampton and Lingfield and she wasn’t beaten far in a useful handicap at this course on her turf debut in June. She wasn’t at her best stepped up to this trip at Sandown last time, but that was in listed company, and she should be much happier back in a handicap from what looks a fair mark. Tarrabb, a comfortable winner at Ascot last time, is regarded as the main danger.

18:45 – Run For Oscar

RUN FOR OSCAR was in top form over hurdles last year, running to a useful level when landing a brace of big-field handicaps, and he showed the benefit of his reappearance when staying on for third at the Curragh in June. He shaped better than the bare result on that occasion, too, and he appeals as being well handicapped in this sphere. Arctic Fox arrives on the up so is feared most, with El Picador (assuming he stays) and The Predictor completing the shortlist.
