14:20 – Tele Red
Tele Red was below his best when only sixth at Ayr last time, paying the price for racing keenly, but he had previously gone close at Carlisle and Nottingham and holds solid claims based on those runner-up efforts. Tele Red did well to finish as close as he did on his penultimate start after getting racing a long way out, and he remains on a fair handicap mark.

14:50 – Storm Venture
Storm Venture understandably showed signs of greenness on debut and losing a shoe may also have compromised his chance, but he shaped with promise when fourth at Chester. That form is up there with the best on offer and Storm Venture is likely to take a step forward with that experience under his belt, so he appeals as the one to side with.

15:20 – Monsieur Lambrays
Monsieur Lambrays failed to make an impact in the Northumberland Vase last time but he can fare better back in these calmer waters. He was first past the post on his penultimate start at York, and while he was demoted for causing interference that effort highlighted that he’s on a competitive mark. He’s not the most straightforward but it’s worth noting he ran well on his only outing at this venue, finishing runner-up.
15:50 – Tangled
Tangled is on a losing run of 11 that stretches back to June of last year but he has been given a chance by the handicapper and has shaped on a couple of occasions like he’s capable of taking advantage of that drop in the weights. Tangled was only beaten a neck at Beverley in June and he then bounced back from an underwhelming effort at Carlisle to finish a close-up fourth at Ripon. He wasn’t seen to best effect at Ripon as he had to wait for a gap at a crucial time, and he can raise his game granted better luck.
16:20 – Sparkle In His Eye
Sparkle In His Eye is enjoying a productive year and he registered his fourth success in 2022 when successful in a seven-furlong handicap at Musselburgh on his penultimate start. Sparkle In His Eye confirmed that he’s in good form when finishing fourth, beaten less than a length and a half, in a nine-furlong handicap at the same venue last time, and he can be relied upon to give another good account.
16:50 – Melody King
Melody King has dropped below his last winning mark and has shaped like ready to strike on his last couple of outings. Melody King fared best of those held up when fourth at Nottingham on his penultimate start and he caught the eye when filling the same position at Beverley last time, leaving the impression that he may have won had the gallop been stronger and he not met some late trouble. He can build on that promise to score here.
17:20 – Commandment
This six-furlong handicap looks likely to be run at a strong gallop and that should suit Commandment, who proved her effectiveness at this venue when landing a classified stakes over course and distance on her penultimate start. Commandment had to settle for third at Yarmouth last time but the steady pace in that contest would not have suited and she is entitled to do better back at this venue with a stiff uphill finish.
