WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

13:18 – Dubai Jemila

A big eye-catcher when fourth on debut at Beverley, DUBAI JEMILA could be a different proposition with that experience under her belt, while the step up in trip might also bring about improvement. Dubai Jemila – a €347,000 purchase – has an excellent middle-distance pedigree being by Dubawi and out of an Italian Oaks runner-up, and with that in mind it’s understandable she lacked the sharpness to make a big impact over five furlongs. However, she did finish with a flourish inside the final furlong, leaving the impression that there’s a lot more to come over further. She should relish this step up to an extended seven furlongs.

13:48 – Will He Dance

Had been running well in defeat, WILL HE DANCE raised his game a notch to get off the mark at the 13th attempt at Musselburgh a couple of weeks ago. That was not a strong classified stakes but Will He Dance still deserves credit for pulling six lengths clear and is obviously in good form at present. He looks fairly treated as he steps back into handicap company and can follow up here.

14:18 – Water of Leith

Finally cashed in on a falling mark when scoring at Carlisle on what proved to be his final start for Rebecca Menzies, WATER OF LEITH ran at least as well in defeat when runner-up in a six-furlong handicap here last week on his first outing for Jim Goldie. Water of Leith runs off the same mark here in a lesser race, so this looks like a good opportunity for him to quickly get back to winning ways.

14:48 – Chance

CHANCE returned from a five-month absence at Sandown four weeks ago and he shaped with plenty of promise, doing enough to suggest that he retains all his ability. Chance was ultimately fifth but he proved competitive, holding every chance a furlong out. He is entitled to take a step forward with that run under his belt, and is now only 2 lb above the mark he defied at Lingfield in January, so he looks worth siding with.

15:18 – Ben Asker

Had been showing little over hurdles for Paul Robson but, switched to the Flat and fitted with first-time cheekpieces, BEN ASKER returned to form out of the blue to score over this course and distance on his first start for Katie Scott three weeks ago. Ben Asker had the run of the race under a well-judged front-running ride by this jockey, but there’s a fair chance he’ll be able to dictate matters again in a race lacking obvious pace. Ben Asker remains fairly handicapped after going up only 2 lb for his win three weeks ago.

15:48 – Retirement Beckons

Seemed perked up by the removal of his usual hood at Hamilton a few weeks ago and he kept on well to score by a length and a quarter. RETIREMENT BECKONS faced a tougher task off a 4 lb higher mark in a better race over this course and distance last week, but he confirmed his return to form by finishing a close-up third, leading until the final furlong. He can give another good account.
