17:45 – Match Play

Both Jm Jungle and Shandy Star have some good form, but they each need to put a modest nursery debut behind them. Preference is for MATCH PLAY who still has to prove his stamina after his successful nursery debut over 5f here, but he remains open to improvement and the stable has a fine record in this race. Double O ran well enough when second over 7f on her nursery debut and should have no problem with the return to a stiff 6f. She looks the best alternative.

18:20 – Tipperary Tiger

Provided the ground doesn’t dry out too much another big run is very likely from Kats Bob (second choice) given his fine record over C&D, but the vote goes to TIPPERARY TIGER who also has winning form here and ran really well in a much stronger contest back at this venue last time. Recent Musselburgh scorer Ramon Di Loria is 3lb higher, but remains feasibly treated on the pick of his form and looks best of the others.

18:55 – Divine Jewel

Having already won twice here this month Wickywickywheels comes into this in fine form and is respected despite the 9lb higher mark, though rain may pose a question. Heights Of Abraham would be interesting off this mark if back to the sort of form he was showing here in the spring, but the choice is the consistent DIVINE JEWEL who has shaped as though this stiffer test would suit and remains open to further progress after just five starts.

19:25 – Last Crusader

There is no doubt Dragon Symbol has the class to win this and he is favoured by the weights, but he hasn’t been at his very best this year and his tendency to take a grip may not be ideal in this small field. He may be worth taking on with LAST CRUSADER who has a 7lb penalty to carry, but this established trailblazer is an uncomplicated sort and could take some catching if allowed to dominate once again.

20:00 – Smart Contender

Five of the nine runners are previous C&D winners, including Flying Moon who would have to be respected if back to the sort of form that saw him complete an Ayr hat-trick. Drying ground would bring last year’s winner Mi Capricho into the mix, but it may be worth chancing handicap newcomer SMART CONTENDER, with the form of his last two starts in novices working out so well. Alpha Cru could go well if settling better in front than at Pontefract last time.

20:30 – Clan Jock

Not many of these look solid, though Your Love Is King and Bouncing Bobby (second choice) come into this in better heart than a few. Both hold each-way claims at least, but this looks a good opportunity for CLAN JOCK to win his third race at the track since last month. He scored with more in hand than the neck margin would suggest here last time.

21:00 – Temper Trap (NAP)

Now that she is off the mark C&D winner Lochnaver is respected off 5lb higher, while Zealous ran even better than it looked last time and could figure if taking another step forward. However, three-time C&D winner TEMPER TRAP (nap) has dropped to an attractive mark and should make a bold bid to win this race for the third year in a row.
