FANCY A SHOT AT £10K AT GLORIOUS GOODWOOD TODAY?

17:00 – Nibiru (NAP)

NIBIRU (nap) ran really well twice at this meeting last year. He was second in a Flat handicap at 40-1 and then unlucky in a handicap hurdle over this trip when meeting lots of red lights before the home turn. He runs off the same mark of 109 here and comes into the race on the back of winning a Flat handicap at Fairyhouse. He looks primed to run a big one. Mr Saxobeat won his bumper here last year and could be interesting back at this trip, while Ebasari, Magnor Glory and Zoffanien are all worthy of consideration too.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

17:30 – Blue News

Thunderbear sets the standard on form and he’s respected back down in class but he doesn’t look entirely straightforward. Keep In Touch was a bit of an eyecatcher on debut and she’ll probably take up a fair amount of the market given her connections. It might be worth taking a chance on BLUE NEWS who got back on track with a narrow defeat last time out and should improve for this longer trip.

18:00 – Busselton

The likeable BUSSELTON looks on a fair mark and his ability to race up with the pace will be an asset. Last year’s winner Born By The Sea will be primed for a repeat and could be the chief threat while Waitnsee and Aramax, who was third in last year’s renewal, are others to consider.

18:35 – Baby Zeus

Fourth in last year’s renewal, BABY ZEUS is 2lb lower this time, well drawn and is best when fresh. His trainer has a fine record in this valuable contest. Merroir has a good record at this venue and should go well while the three-year-olds Ruler Legend and Shark Bay have scope for further improvement.

19:10 – Honeycomb

A very open maiden but HONEYCOMB is gradually progressive and she can go one better than at Killarney where she had a couple of these behind. Willamette Valley may improve enough on her promising comeback at Bellewstown to get involved while River Rain has a clear chance on ratings if she stays.

19:40 – Lamprog

This is typically competitive for a handicap at this meeting and a case can be made for plenty of them. Grappa Nonino looks solid after the form of his narrow defeat at the Curragh received a boost here earlier in the week. Princess Azure showed more last time and has a good draw for her front-running tactics. However, at a likely each-way price, it might be worth taking a chance on LAMPROG. She was a long way below form last time out but has been freshened up since and had looked progressive previously.

20:10 – Sandhurst

This looks like a good opportunity for SANDHURST to get his career back on track. He was entitled to need his return from more than a year off when in behind Shoshone Warrior at Leopardstown last time and he comes out well at the weights this time. Azallya should be involved if she resumes progress having proved herself at Listed level last term and M C Muldoon may do better at some stage.

20:40 – Indigo Desert

The unexposed INDIGO DESERT might be the way to go on his debut for Willie Mullins given that an opening mark of 75 looks on the lenient side and he has plenty of upside on just his third career start. Cherub is another on a good mark for her handicap debut. The main danger has to be Unanswered who arrives in fine form after a narrow defeat in his bid for a five-timer here on Wednesday and he has to be on any shortlist if he takes up this engagement.
