Fancy a shot at £20k at Glorious Goodwood today?

17:50 – D Day Odette

D DAY ODETTE still looked a work in progress when third on her handicap debut at Newmarket last month, doing well to be beaten only two and a quarter lengths given how green she was off the bridle. She is very much the type to improve with racing and we’ve already seen enough from her to suggest she is potentially well treated off a BHA mark of 75. Benoit de la Sayette, who is good value for his 3-lb claim, also takes over in the saddle today, so this looks a good opportunity for D Day Odette to get off the mark.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

18:20 – Boom Boom Pow

BOOM BOOM POW again showed fair form on her qualifying run at Chester three weeks ago, filling the runner-up spot for the third start in a row. She was beaten only two and a half lengths and the winner gave that form a boost when following up on his nursery debut at Thirsk on Friday. Boom Boom Pow makes her own nursery debut today and an opening BHA mark of 71 is unlikely to prove beyond her on a strict interpretation of her latest effort.

18:50 – Flying Honours

FLYING HONOURS failed to meet market expectations on his debut at Newmarket earlier this month, but he shaped nicely under just a hands-and-heels ride, keeping on well to pass the post four and a half lengths behind the winner. That form sets the standard in this line-up and there should be more to come from him with the run under his belt. Charlie Appleby is seeking his third success in this race since 2014 and Flying Honours seems sure to take plenty of beating.

19:25 – Mercurius Power

MERCURIUS POWER bounced back to form to gain his first win of the season over this course and distance last week, just needing to be driven out to land the spoils by half a length. This will be a quicker-than-ideal turnaround, but he looks to hold obvious claims if arriving in the same sort of form. After all, he is clearly very effective under these conditions and the 5-lb penalty he must carry for that recent victory is offset by the claim of his promising rider, Callum Hutchinson.

20:00 – Canterbury Bell

CANTERBURY BELL showed improved form to make a successful reappearance at Nottingham in May, hitting the front inside the final two furlongs and keeping going well from there to win by a length. That was a fair performance and she remains very much a filly to follow now making the switch to handicaps. A BHA mark of 72 certainly looks a good starting point to life in this sphere and the step up in trip today could also eke out a bit more improvement.

20:30 – Tuddenham Green

TUDDENHAM GREEN shaped encouragingly when third on his handicap debut at Haydock last month, deserving extra credit for how well he stuck to his task given how freely he raced in the early stages. That first run for seven months will hopefully have taken the freshness out of him and there was certainly enough promise in that effort to suggest there are handicaps to be won with him from a BHA mark of 69. There is loads of stamina in his pedigree as well, so the longer trip here is also likely to play to his strengths.
