LEGEND OF DUBAI impressed when slamming a good field by 4¼l at Newmarket on his return, and then started 7/2 favourite in the Royal Hunt Cup. He flopped there, but can be forgiven that, and I expect him to improve again upped to what should be his optimum trip.

Chesham winner Holloway Boy is one of four colts to have won on debut at Royal Ascot since 1983, and the other three never won again, which is a worry for favourite backers in the Vintage. I think Chesham fifth DARK THIRTY could be the each-way play after an improved run in the Superlative at Newmarket.
15:00 – Sandrine
SANDRINE has been kept to Group 1 company at a mile this year, finishing fifth from a poor draw in the 1000 Guineas and third in the Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket last time. She showed plenty of dash in the Falmouth, and will relish the drop to seven furlongs at Goodwood, where she will receive weight from all her rivals. She needs to improve on the ratings, but she could well do so given this lesser test.

15:35 – Kyprios
The most interesting betting on the Goodwood Cup is at what time Trueshan becomes a non-runner. In his absence, KYPRIOS should confirm Gold Cup form with Stradivarius, despite the change of jockey on the latter.
16:10 – Atalis Bay
ATALIS BAY is 5lb lower in the weights than for his last handicap, when trying to concede 12lb to Mondammej, and failing by less than a length to do so. His latest effort for Robert Cowell was his best for the yard, and suggested he was coming back to a peak, and if so then he will take the world of beating against inferior rivals. Lord Riddiford won this last year and has slipped below that mark, so also needs a market check.
