Fancy a shot at £/€10k every day at Goodwood?
Each and every day of the racing year we bring you a bumper NAPs table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.
WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!
Don’t know what a NAPs table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets). The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the table. Let’s get to the bets.
13:50 Goodwood – Bell Rock (On The Nose, Expert Eye)
BELL ROCK showed best handicap form when winning over 1m1f at Newmarket in May 2021 and has run only once over 1m2f, when beaten about 5l in this race in 2020. Needs to improve for the belated return to this trip, albeit promising Harry Davies relieves him of 5lb.
14:25 Goodwood – Dornoch Castle (Daily Telegraph, Marlborough)
Under Cieren Fallon DORNOCH CASTLE ran out a clearcut winner of 7f good-ground novices at Haydock and Ayr, looking a smart prospect in the process. Like his stablemate Dear My Friend, he has yet to be truly tested and he holds the Group 1 National Stakes entry. Hard to dismiss.
15:00 Goodwood – Lusail (Daily Record, Garry Owen)
LUSAIL won two juvenile Group 2s last year and was beaten just a head in the Group 1 St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot last month, having made the running. Another fine effort when third in the Group 1 Prix Jean Prat at Deauville last month. Strong claims now back in a Group 2.
15:35 Goodwood – Stradivarius (Daily Express, The Scout)
STRADIVARIUS won this race four times in a row, including under Andrea Atzeni (in 2017 and 2018) who replaces regular partner Frankie Dettori. Missed last year’s renewal due to unsuitable soft ground. He doesn’t have the same aura of invincibility as in the past but his form is still high class and he was denied a clear run when third (beaten about 1l) to Kyprios in the Ascot Gold Cup last month. Should be bang there.
