17:10 – Tax For Max

A well-contested novice. Prairie Dancer is a big player as he attempts to win for the fourth time in five starts. while Roscommon winner Amir Kabir could easily improve enough to go very close. Preference is for TAX FOR MAX after finally getting his head in front at Punchestown with his overall form setting a good standard.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

17:40 – Midnight Run

Jon Snow is clearly of interest on his chase debut, while Hannon could have more improvement in him after his good second at Wexford. Preference is for MIDNIGHT RUN(nap), a faller when with every chance in the Drinmore in November when last seen over fences. His win on the Flat at Ballinrobe last week should have sharpened him up for this.

18:10 – Dower House

With improvement likely from her promising Curragh debut, DOWER HOUSE makes plenty of appeal in a race that her yard has won in three of the last four years. Tarnawa’s half-sister Tahiyra is worth a market check on debut, as are barrier trial winner Remind and On The Money.

18:40 – Mosala

Ado McGuinness is mob-handed here as he tries to win the race for the fourth straight year, but the draw has not been kind to Casanova, Spanish Tenor, Current Option, and to a lesser extent last year’s winner Sirjack Thomas, while dual winner Saltonstall will need plenty of luck from his inside draw. Fastnet Crown is making his debut in this race and will be on plenty of shortlists. as will the relatively unexposed Cowboy Justice after his Killarney win. The selection is MOSALA, a staying third in this race last year and coming into the race on the back of a very encouraging Leopardstown run.

19:15 – Karakoul

Though KARAKOUL hasn’t matched his best 2yo form in two starts this season, he is given another chance having been gelded since his last run. Butterfly Island is a big danger with racefitness on her side and receiving 5lb, while Coreman has the ability to run well.

19:50 – Shawaamekh

A competitive race and hard to discount many of them. Dunum comes here searching for a four-timer but there is no guarantee that the handicapper has him yet. Drombeg Duke and Earls also come here in good form, while the likes of Church Mountain and Mean Fomhair will have their supporters. A tentative vote goes to top-weight SHAWAAMEKH who doesn’t run a bad race and is a very straightforward ride from the front. He should be thereabouts.

20:20 – Black Hawk Eagle

Having looked to be outstayed over further the last twice, BLACK HAWK EAGLE should be able to get off the mark dropped in trip and from a favourable draw. The McGuinness pair of Skontonovski and Star Of Cashel are lurking off dangerous weights, while Blackcastle Storm, Clear Quartz and Cleveleys are interesting from decent draws.
