13:50 – San Giovanni

Paul Nicholls’ Huelgoat raised his game with a close call in a C&D handicap on his recent return and he’s respected back in a novice, but preference is for SAN GIOVANNI, who sets the standard under a penalty for his all-the-way win at Worcester last month and is open to more progress on his step up to this trip.

14:25 – Mascat

This can go to the useful Flat performer MASCAT (nap), who made it 2-4 over hurdles with his clearcut win in a handicap here last month and is open to more progress in this sphere. The main danger is State Crown, who cashed in on a reduced mark with his all-the-way win at this track last time and a 3lb rise for that success looks fair.

15:00 – Jony Max

A few of these come with risks attached and preference is for the progressive JONY MAX, who has form figures of 221321221 in the last nine of his ten chase runs and still looks feasibly treated on the form of his decisive win over C&D last time. The pick of the opposition is Balkardy, who has a record of 3-5 over fences and is open to more improvement back in a handicap.

15:35 – Manor Park

This looks a bit trappy. Fire Lake (second choice) finished well to land a maiden last time and looks interesting if she can build on that on her handicap debut. Clearance has got back in the groove over C&D recently and he remains feasibly treated, but it might be worth siding with Brian Barr’s 7yo MANOR PARK. He’s not easy to predict but he won this race by 10l last year and was a good second in a Class 3 event at Stratford on his penultimate run.

16:10 – Dindin

Top of the list is David Pipe’s DINDIN, who had the race at his mercy when falling at the last in a C&D handicap last Sunday. He now steps back up in grade but he’s on the same mark as last time and has leading claims if he can put in a clear round. Dan Skelton’s One For Billy has had a productive time this year and he’s feared most, ahead of Electron Bleu, who was a creditable second back over fences at Southwell last time.

16:45 – Dame De Fortune

This could revolve around the two Irish point winners in The Galahad Kid and DAME DE FORTUNE. The former won his last two starts in that sphere and is respected on his rules debut, but preference is for Dame De Fortune, who came good with an easy front-running in May and has joined a yard with a 29% record in bumpers this season.
