I thought Lezoo was lightly unlucky at Newmarket. What I will say watching back through the races of these horses is that I was really taken by Glenlaurel at Thirsk. I thought she looked green but when she was sent about her business that day I thought she sprinted to the line at a fair rate of knots.
However, the pace of the race isn’t spectacular and the 3nd and 3rd haven’t done much after. I just thought there was something really taking about Glenlaureland I think she’s open to a fair bit of improvement.
I’m with Marnie James. Two of his runs since September were off marks of 100 and 102 so he’s back down now. He’s got York form and has plummeted in the ratings after switching yards and having a big chunk of time off a little while back.
Zanbaq is the one to beat but I’ve chanced a different one and I’m going to go each way with Oscula. I think she’ll definitely be in the frame and 1m suits her better than 7f. She did over 7f at Carlisle but that’s a stiff 7f. She had a good run in 2nd at Sandown and that’s good form in the book. At the price I thought I’d chance her.
I’m with the favourite Silver Samurai here. He won with more than 6lbs in hand at Haydock which is the penalty he carries and he has a low draw which will be of benefit.
After spending 40 minutes on this one I’ve come down very much on Chiefofchiefs as the one I want to be on. I watched him in the Victoria Cup and I watched him at Ascot and I’m thinking he’s definitely the one for me.

I’m going for Claymore. He’s got match practice having run at the Royal meeting in June whereas Dubai Honour has not been seen since Meydan last March.
The big questions is, are the three year olds better than the older horses in this? Do I really trust them? Westover was very good at the Curragh but he was well beaten in The Derby and Emily Upjohn was beaten by Tuesday in The Oaks and to be honest, at the prices, I’m not really with them. I don’t think Mishriff is a 1m4 I think he’s better at 1m6f which left me with Torquator Tasso. I think he’s the wrong price and that’s the one I’m coming down on the side of.
