13:50 Ascot – Minnetonka (e/w)

She’s on the recovery after a four-length beating up at headquarters prior to that she was the most impressive winner on her racecourse debut by a wide margin and that has been quickly forgotten in the market, Ryan Moore takes over in the saddle and she should get the perfect run being drawn towards the centre of the group with the stalls positioned in the centre you wouldn’t want to be on either wing.

14:05 York – Stone Circle

Just might be able to pick up the pieces late on as they are guaranteed to go lickety-split in this lineup and he appears to be drawn on the correct side with the favourite close by who has to blast along to be at his best. He’s going to be the target.

14:25 Ascot – Zanbaq

Has run to a very decent level on all of her four races so far and it’s no surprise to see her perched at the top of the market. She just got shuffled back at a vital stage last time in the Sandringham but it was still a cracking effort to hit the line so strongly. The German raider is the likely pacesetter so we should get an ideal tow to the race.

York Races Ebor Festival

14:40 York – Nationwide

Has been a revelation since being picked up for 10,000 Guineas at the horses in training sale starting his winning run at a whopping 50/1 at Kempton. He just got caught by Silver Samurai after travelling equally well but couldn’t match that rival’s change of gear. He’s better off at the weights and they now know they can ride him a touch more aggressively.

15:00 Ascot – King Zain (e/w)

Always threatened to be a really good horse for his previous handler and after having a significant break appears to have come back in tiptop form now he’s filled out that big frame. There is obviously a concern that he’s a better performer on a synthetic and he now has stepped into the last chance saloon at a big each-way price to prove that he is now also capable on the turf.

15:15 York – Dubai Honour

Made rapid strides through the ratings last season and locked horns with some top-level performers after his Prix Dollar win over in France, The team couldn’t be in any better form and with his main market rival likely to go forward he should have too much pace for him later on for a return victory.

15:35 Ascot – Westover

With the Irish Derby winner in receipt of 11lb from the older horses he should be able to make his class tell late on as we know stamina is not a factor for the son of Frankel. Connections retain the faith in Colin Keane to go out and do what he finds easy – WINNING!
