14:03 – Slan Abhaile & Yosemite Valley

Slan Abhaile looked quality at the Curragh last time out but it was a slightly messy race. However, I was also taken by Yosemite Valley in that race. He flew home after getting boxed in next to the rail. There’s improvement to come from both of them and I can’t really pick between them. I wouldn’t go against Slan Abhaile and I definitely want to keep Yosemite Valley on side.

14:35 – Urban Beat

I’m tempted by Urban Beat for John Murtagh. He’s been a little disappointing this season but he usually takes a few runs to get going. I’m happy to forgive his last run at the Curragh and he’s down to a rating of 101, with Scott McCullagh also taking 5lbs off.

15:10 – Mooneista

It’s difficult to be against Mooneista here. She won this last season and she ran well in the King’s Stand Stakes, finishing fourth behind Nature Strip. She’s bound to run well.

15:45 – Cairde Go Deo

* This week’s FTHM podcast was recorded prior to Emily Upjohn pulling out of the Juddmonte Irish Oaks.

I’m giving Cairde Go Deo a chance on the basis that there’s no out and out frontrunner in the race. She’s not regularly a frontrunner but she did make all to win at Leopardstown last time out. If she does that again, she has a chance.
