13:00 – Bresson

Bresson is a well-bred colt by Dubawi and out of the Musidora winner Shutter Speed – shaped with plenty of promise when finishing third in a six-and-a-half-furlong maiden here on debut in May and he built on that positive impression to finish runner-up in a seven-furlong novice at Newmarket last month. Bresson was only beaten a head by Victory Dance, who went on to finish runner-up in the Group 2 Superlative Stakes, so he sets the clear standard here and can get off the mark.

NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?

13:33 – Lisboa

This is an interesting novice that features some newcomers who make appeal on paper, including Lisboa. Lisboa is by Galileo and out of a smart sprinter who was placed at Group 2 level, and he is in excellent hands with John and Thady Gosden. The Gosdens have their team in excellent order at present.

14:08 – Trillium

Trillium showed plenty to work on when finishing runner-up on debut at Goodwood last month, travelling best against a trio of colts with experience. Trillium was headed inside the final furlong and had to settle for second, but she pulled well clear of the third and fourth and is entitled to improve for that initial experience.

14:43 – Spring Glow

Spring Glow thrived towards the end of last year, registering back-to-back victories at Kempton, and she gave notice that she’s ready to capitalise on her lower turf mark when finishing runner-up at Goodwood last month. Spring Glow was only beaten a neck and she may well have won had she been produced later as she looked in control entering the final furlong but hung right and was caught in the dying strides. She remains on a competitive mark and can launch another bold bid here.

15:18 – Divine Jewel

Divine Jewel is a well-bred filly – she is out of a May Hill winner and she fetched 300,000 guineas as a yearling – and she produced her best effort yet when making a successful handicap debut at Lingfield last month. Divine Jewel had the benefit of a soft lead at Lingfield, but it was still impressive how readily she brushed her rivals aside, pulling three and three-quarter lengths clear without being hard ridden. She looks well handicapped after going up only 6 lb for that success and there should be plenty more to come from this unexposed filly.

15:53 – Chateau

Chateau had shaped well when finishing third on debut at Salisbury and he built on that promise to win the Two Year Old Trophy at Beverley, finding plenty to lead in the dying strides after being short of room at a crucial stage. Chateau emerged with credit when fourth in the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot and he again left the impression that he would benefit from a stiffer test. He should relish this step up to six furlongs and can raise his game.

16:28 – Queen of Comedy

Queen of Comedy, a sister to the very smart King of Comedy, justified good support when getting off the mark at Nottingham on her handicap debut and she shaped better than the result would suggest when a close-up third over this course and distance a couple of weeks ago. A slow start put Queen of Comedy on the backfoot last time, but the way she moved through that race suggests she still has more to offer.

17:05 – Zulu Tracker

Zulu Tracker made the most of a good opportunity when landing a Bath maiden a couple of weeks ago and he is worth siding with on his return to handicap company. Zulu Tracker is able to compete off the same mark as he did on his penultimate start, when he was beaten just a head in a Haydock handicap. He lost more ground at the start of that Haydock race than he was ultimately beaten by, leaving the impression that he is capable of defying this mark. He is also less exposed than the older rivals he takes on here.
