Don’t know what a NAPs table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets). The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the table. Let’s get to the bets.
Preference is for the lightly raced 4yo PONTIUS, who finished well to go close off the same mark at Brighton two weeks ago and is open to further progress. Redredrobin has a solid record this season and she’s feared most, though Bounty Pursuit has striking form figures over C&D and he looks interesting on his drop back in trip. Others who could be in the mix are Iconic Knight and Granstand.
The eldest in the line-up by some way, PERFECT MYTH nonetheless has plenty in her favour, and if she repeats the form of her recent close fifth at Windsor she can gain a first Flat success to add to her three hurdling wins. Army Of One looks the most viable alternative, with turf debutante Mohassana also respected.
Though she has a bit to find on ratings, TREVAUNANCE is lightly-raced and can bridge that gap, with the form of her Limerick win last time boosted since. Georgeville and Boundless Ocean can give her most to do.
Jim Boyle saddles half of the field with Marlay Park preferred to last year’s winner Otago of the three. There are alternatives, however, with Starshiba having run very well at Ayr ten days ago, Tintoretto featuring on a handy mark and FLAME OF FREEDOM back to a winning mark and with William Buick taking over for the first time this year. Eve Johnson Houghton’s filly is marginally preferred.
