13:45 – Thakuri
THAKURI didn’t show much in maiden/novice company or when failing to beat a rival home on her handicap debut at Redcar in April. She shaped with more encouragement, though, when fourth at Redcar last month and was then beaten little more than a length in fourth at Musselburgh last time. Thakuri looks capable of making an impact from this basement mark and is an interesting runner as she steps up markedly in trip (she is up half a mile in distance here).

14:20 – Lola’s Moment
LOLA’S MOMENT disappointed when only fifth at Hamilton last time but her placed efforts at Wetherby and Ripon give her sound claims here. Lola’s Moment was too green to do herself justice on debut at Redcar but she took a big step forward on that to finish runner-up at Wetherby, and she then ran to a similar level when third at Ripon. She can make the most of the 7 lb she receives from Glorious Angel and get off the mark.
14:55 – Master Richard
MASTER RICHARD failed to justify good support when only fourth at Beverley last month but he made no mistake at York on Friday, registering a decisive success. Master Richard did too much too soon at Beverley but he went about things in a more controlled manner at York and kept up the gallop to score by three and three-quarter lengths. He escapes a penalty, so is obviously well handicapped, while the drop in trip is unlikely to cause a problem given how powerfully he goes through his races.
15:30 – Grantley Hall
This is a good opportunity for Grantley Hall, a filly who looked a useful sprinter in the making when scoring at Redcar last month. Grantley Hall had shown plenty to work on when fourth at Pontefract on debut and she built on that to register an effortless success at Redcar, impressing with how she sauntered four and three-quarter lengths clear. She still has plenty to offer after only two starts.

16:05 – Abate
ABATE had fallen below his last winning mark and, after posting a couple of creditable placed efforts at Nottingham, he bounced back to his best to strike at Newmarket last month. That contest was run at a good gallop and the form has a solid look to it, so a 3 lb rise in the weights looks fair.

16:37 – Willard Creek
WILLARD CREEK ran well to finish placed on two of his three starts last season and he also shaped with promise when runner-up on his reappearance at Redcar last month. Willard Creek was no match for the impressive Grantley Hall, though he can have his effort marked up slightly as he ended up in a less-than-ideal position having been carried right soon after the start. The form he showed when runner-up at Newcastle last season is the best on offer and marks him out as the one to beat.
