13:30 – Fortunate Fred
Tip Top Tonto was placed in two run-of-the-mill maiden hurdles in May and should go well again here but the suggestion is Foxtrot Racing’s other runner, FORTUNATE FRED, who returned from his latest layoff with a respectable effort last month and can hopefully start to deliver on the considerable promise he showed in 2020.

14:05 – Fat Sam
Yccs Portocervo has become well handicapped and will be hard to beat if the first-time cheekpieces have the desired effect but preference is for FAT SAM, who did well over fences last year and has been in good form in recent novice hurdles.
14:40 – Al Roc
His current hurdling ability is tricky to gauge but free-going front-runner AL ROC has already enjoyed a very productive season over fences and is taken to exploit his lower hurdles mark. The others all have something to prove but veteran former pointer Every Breakin Wave is seemingly on a workable mark for today’s handicap debut and can pose a threat if fully tuned up after his layoff.

15:10 – Romanor
Today’s drop back to 2m is an interesting move for Steady The Ship, who was unable to maintain the fast pace he set at Huntingdon last time but began his chasing career with two 2m4f wins in the spring. However, he may set this race up perfectly for C&D winner ROMANOR, who is very well suited by a strongly run 2m.
15:45 – Al Muffrih
It’s reasonable to expect another good run from Thahab Ifraj but AL MUFFRIH (nap) kept on for an encouraging fourth on last month’s handicap hurdle debut and, in view of his Flat ability, he could still have significant untapped potential as a hurdler. Karannelle is a tricky mare to win with but Sean Bowen nearly smuggled her to the front at Worcester a week ago and she remains on a workable mark.

16:15 – Come On Du Berlais
Paul Nicholls’ runner Justmyimagination might well be capable of better than she showed when a well-held second at Worcester last month but COME ON DU BERLAIS won with a degree of authority at Kelso in May and looks the one to beat. Carrigeen Kampala is the most appealing newcomer.
