Horse Racing Tips: A 7/1 play leads the way at Stratford today

The Racing Post are backing Groom D'Oudairies (17:31) to go all the way, as they preview the seven-race jumps card.

14:01 – Appreciate

A few of these are open to improvement but APPRECIATE responded well to Bradley Harris’s handling when winning at Worcester and his rider’s big claim here is a plus. Beat The Heat is likely to be a danger but there are also hopes for handicap debutant Eagle’s Realm who had some fair AW form over the winter and has a modest mark now competing at this level for the first time.

14:36 – Mucuna

This can go to MUCUNA, who probably allowed Shipton Moyne too much rope when second to that filly at Market Rasen last month and has since doubled her hurdling tally with a win at Newton Abbot. The other Newton Abbot winner, Captain Square, is next on the list, while Rolypolymoly is the most appealing newcomer to hurdling.

15:11 – Vinnie’s Getaway

It’s hard to place a lot of trust in this field but VINNIE’S GETAWAY is the most solid option on recent evidence. Joly Maker needs to bounce back from a modest run and Boagrius needs to have benefited from his wind operation two months ago, but they are next on the list.

15:46 – Sofia’s Rock (NAP)

It may pay to forgive SOFIA’S ROCK (nap) his defeat at Warwick two months ago and he could prove hard to catch back from a short break. The indomitable Glimpse Of Gold doesn’t have to lead and should be in the thick of it but perhaps Jamacho will emerge as the biggest danger back at a course he likes.

16:21 – Time For Bell

Ahead Of Schedule and Wavecrest, preferred in that order, provide two of the most appealing options in this interesting field, following their first and second in a C&D handicap 26 days ago in which they finished 27l clear of the third. Glendruid going back up in trip for his second chase start is another one to consider seriously but a chance is taken on major improvement from TIME FOR BELL, one of two Christian Williams-trained runners who need a close look. The selection has stamina in her pedigree and her chase debut over 2m one month ago hinted that she can now prove capable of better.

16:56 – Of Corse I Can

This is probably a good opportunity for OF CORSE I CAN to go one better than he did on his rules debut at Ffos Las, where he travelled smoothly into contention over a longer trip before finding no answers to the winner. Fire Lake also has significant form and it’s possible that softer ground was not ideal when she tried hurdling in the winter. The long-absent Donnie Azoff has a chance on his 2020 bumper form.

17:31 – Groom D’Oudairies

Dindin was back to form with blinkers replacing cheekpieces on Tuesday but his overall record for this yard is not that compelling. GROOM D’OUDAIRIES was never remotely near the leaders on his chase debut at Newton Abbot but he was entitled to need the confidence-giver after a hurdle fall the time before and he did show some potential for fences. He looks worth persevering with at this trip. Invincible Wish may be the biggest danger to the selection.
