Having shown more here last time, Gabrial The Wire looks likely to go well off his favourable mark. However, things seem to be in place for PARYS MOUNTAIN to produce a big run. A C&D winner who likes to dominate, he is ideally drawn in stall one. Last Hoorah has shaped well on his last two starts and, if the blinkers work, he could give the selection most to do.

An interesting novice with Metahorse, Shine’s Ambition, Boom Boom Pow and SECRET MISTRAL (nap) having already shown a fair level of form. The last-named is a speedy sort who could prove hard to catch if getting to the front from stall two. Shine’s Ambition showed plenty of promise when second on debut and could prove the main threat.
19:00 – Box To Box
A tricky handicap in which Praiano would be a leading fancy if rain arrives. However, the ground may not be ideal for him so this may go to the progressive BOX TO BOX, who got up in the shadow of the winning post here last time and should enjoy this greater stamina test. Group One Power races off his sole winning mark on turf and may give him most to do, although the in-form Haunted Dream and lightly-raced Trojan Horse have to enter calculations, too.
19:30 – True Statesman
Having run well in the Woodcote last time, The Twilight Lady doesn’t look overburdened on her handicap debut. However, she hasn’t been crying out for this greater stamina test and it may not suit her as much as TRUE STATESMAN, who was strong at the finish when scoring over 6f last time. Double O had no chance at Ascot but had won her maiden in good style, suggesting this longer trip was within her compass. She rates the main danger.

20:00 – Yanifer
Raised 2lb for his win at Doncaster, YANIFER is a prominent racer who may be able to make the most of his favourable draw in stall two. The danger may come from Jilly Cooper, who should be happier at 7f here than over the stiff mile at Carlisle last time. Algheed could prove best of the others.
20:30 – Red Walls
Late Arrival won by a wide margin at Pontefract last time but he did race on a favoured part of the track and the result may have flattered him. Even so, he’s drawn stall 1 here and should make another bold bid. There are viable alternatives though, with Street Life better than he showed here last time and RED WALLS perhaps ready to gain a breakthrough turf success back down in class and from a better draw.

Having run so well in a warm race on the AW last time, Mellow Magic will be popular despite her welter burden. She has to be feared but narrow preference is for HELLENISTA, who will be suited by the return to 2m after scrambling home over 1m6f last time. Rozalia will pose a big threat to both if staying the trip on her first attempt at 2m.
